Like someone else posted, I too, was targeted by this scam. They promised to pay me $4,000 plus bonuses for picking up and dropping off packages. They never did pay me. They were also incessant and annoying and called me even when I asked them not to, including in the middle of my math theory class. They also made me take a selfie with my ID, asked for my SS, and bank account details too. Basically, they are a scam and the scummiest people of the worst sort. I am writing to others to warn them about this company in hopes that others won't be scammed by them too.

I received two emails on 2/25/2025 and 2/26/2025 from Oliver King

[email protected], HR Department representing StoneRiver LLC at 1420 Locust St, Unit A8, Des Moines, IA 50309 about a vacancy work-from-home opportunity for a Shipping Examiner position fora compensation package to include a base salary of $4200 plus a bonus of $45 for each package processed, allowing the Shipping Examiner to earn up to $5400 monthly. On 2/26/2025, I received a phone call from Bianca Waverly, HR Department, Direct Number (515) 320-8940 if I would be interested in this vacant position as a Shipping Examiner for StoneRiver LLC. On 02/26/2025 an email was received from Bianca Waverly to start the hiring process with a link to a company website to provide the following information on the Employment Contract: First and Last Name, Address, Email, Photos of the front and back of my PA Drivers License ID and a selfie holding my valid PA Drivers License ID, and date of agreement. Also provided to the HR Department at StoneRiver LLC, was a W-4 Form and Direct Deposit information to my bank checking account. On 3/3/2025, I received an email from HR Department [email protected] (888) 771-6757 welcoming me to StoneRiver LLC as a Shipping Examiner and to instructions to keep an eye on my emails going forward. On 3/3/2025, I received an email from Quinn Dempsey [email protected], Manager. Mr. Quinn was writing to provide me with updated contact information for StonerRiver shipping department. Manager: Quinn Dempsey Direct Line: (515) 295-0358 Cell phone: (515) 676-4392 Email: [email protected] Incoming Packages Supervisor: Rowan McAllister Direct Line: (515) 295-0362 Cell phone: (515)690-7723 Email: [email protected] Outgoing Packages Supervisor: Cameron Sterling Direct Line: (515) 355-0404 Cell phone: (515) 676-4556 Email: [email protected] I didn't think to do any research outside of this norm because of the emails I received, and the work of a Shipping Examiner proved to be legit starting on 3/7/2025 as I received one package to open, examine, upload photos, print an outbound label and drop the package to either a FedEx, UPS or USPS location and upload proof of receipt the package was sent. I have participated in completing 11 packages since 3/12/2025 to 4/1/2025. I started to do some research online about the company on Scam Detector website, Reddit and ScamPulse.com to learn today 4/6/2025 that StoneRiver LLC could and may be a SCAM where I unknowingly participated as a "Parcel Mule Scam" most likely involving fraudsters sending me packages and where I unknowingly shipped them out to other people by printing outbound prepaid shipping labels from StonerRiver LLC by dropping them off at FedEx, UPS or USPS. Mostly like these items were fraudulently obtained, usually with stolen credit cards I'm assuming here. All my private information was provided to StoneRiver LLC. What should I do immediately to not fall victim to future Identity theft now that very personal and sensitive information has been obtained by StoneRiver LLC? I would like additional information on what I should do going forward after reporting my fraud case.

After reading a very detailed 23 page contract, I sent them a photo of the front and back of my license. Even after looking into the ‘company’, I regrettably began to believe the opportunity was real. I filled out a W-4 which included my social security number… I realize this was a mistake and normally have a better guard up against this, but the job seemed legit enough for me to fall for the trap. I’ve activated a credit Fraud Alert and will continue to take defensive measures.

I was contacted by phone by a Bianca Waverly who stated she was with HR Department of Stone River LLC ( (515)320-8940) and told me that her company was hiring for a shipment examiner and seen my information online and wanted to offer me the job. She stated I will start next week and I would be making 5600 a month. She stated I would not be receiving my pay until a month later which is to make sure all packages are being sent out and not stolen. she sent me a attachment to sign and send a picture of my Identification Card attached then she stated I will then receive a call from them with more instructions. I called her back and asked if this was a scam she advised it was not and gave me their "customer service " phone number ( (888)771-6757) and website (https://usastoneriver.com/terms-of-service) but when I called that number it just repeats over and over to press a number but never directs you to a agent. The address also pulls up a place called Djano on (1420 Locust St Unit A8, Des Moines, IA 50309). I knew then this was a scam and blocked them.

First I received a text from the above listed phone number. That was followed up by a phone call and voicemail message. When the person called back, I answered the phone and talked with them. I let her know that I did not apply for a position at their company, she proceeded to tell me my email address and that my application was pulled from Indeed. I was sent an email while on the phone with a link that went to the company's website, and an employment contract. She prompted me to fill out the employment contract while on the phone with her, but I told her I wanted to read over it first. She told me there would be no pay for the first month, but thereafter, pay would be bi-weekly. The contract stated the same, but it also stated: "All PICK UP ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE GIVEN TIME FRAME FAILURE TO COMPLY employee will be subject for $700 deduction to your FIXED RATE $4200 -$700 new Basic pay will be equivalent to $3500".

I searched Indeed for Stone River, LLC, but was not able to find them. I was only able to find this company on ScamPulse.com scam list. I know this is not a company that I applied to work for.

Shipping examiner position. Claims to send packages to your house for inspection then to forward to the client, which doesn't make sense as to why they don't do it at their address, Asked for a drivers license front and back, a selfie, and address. $4200/mo. with $45 commission on each package delivered on time so proclaimed. Work "20" hours a week.
