I was contacted with an automated warning that my interest rate on my credit card would not be dropped if I did not hit “1” on my phone. I suspect this is also a cell phone identity theft using an elderly person’s phone number. (The person listed under the number was over 70 years old). I hung up the call. There was no indication the caller had any of my personal information (no name, type of card, etc).

Leaves me voicemails several times a day. Calls himself Mason S*** (or S***?) and threatens me. Says he's coming to my home and work to serve me papers- and that I'm going to jail if I don't call him back. He says in the voicemails that I will face legal repercussions and he will call my local PD to have me arrested if I don't answer my door when he or his agents come to my home. He says he'll be there within 48 hours. He has no regional accent, he is a middle age or older white guy, and there is no noise in the background on the voicemails. I block the calls, so he just fills up my voicemail box with messages.

Someone created another account posing as my uncle, messaged me saying he was looking for ways to spend his grant $, which is believable because my uncle is a county commissioner. We then called my uncle to see if it was him, and it wasn’t. I was being directed to follow a link to a “recruiter’s” messenger to help me “apply for the grant too”

The message with the link was:

This is the online agent who helped me get mine, her name is Sarah Kecy. Click on the link, it will direct you to her messenger page. Add her and send a message that you want to apply for a grant

Possible scam alert from 313-406-7662 robo-call "can you hear me clearly/" I answered yes before I realized it was an automated call. Be careful on this one. This phone number should be shut-down Not scammed yet but I am alerting my bank not to accept any unusual charges. I believe I am on the do not call list.

This number continuously calls saying that my computer has a virus and that my information is being used in *** and this could jeopardize my life in the **, I fell for this and paid them the money to protect me. They now never stop calling me. When I did fall for this as soon as I paid them I heard cheering in the background and heard someone say "Stupid Americans"

- Shady Cove, OR, USA

I got a call answering with my name since I am a realtor. They asked, "is this *name*? And I said yeah. Then they hung up... I remembered hearing about the yes scam and now I'm worried... Not sure if yeah works... There was talking noise in the back ground like they were in a call center.

it was a robot call from an un named co. scam. read news articles. did not say yes to it. it was calling from wilmington, Lumberton for example.

- Madison, WI, USA

Picked up a call around noon CST. The caller started to say I was eligible for a free vacation because I had stayed at one of their resorts previously. I had not given my information or stayed at a resort recently and this seems a "to good to be true" kind of scenario, so at this point I had hung up immediately at this point which is why I do not have much else to offer up.

Original number was 405-503-8893. Other numbers are calls I have received and not picked up because my phone said Oklahoma (where I have no friends or family) and none of the numbers have left a message so far.

Potentially useful - I am a Project Fi subscriber, so the scammers could be exploiting my number from Google, T-Mobile (as I have experienced before), US Cellular, or Sprint.

Scammer refused to identify themselves but had crucial information for which to verify my identity, which I refused to do. I asked several times who they were but they would not answer my question about their identity. My phone # is on the National Do Not Call Registry. I explained that they should not have any identifying information about me and respectively hung up.

The person on the other line or recording, asked "if this was(my name)", and what out thinking I said, "yes". There was no response or reply.

- Irvine, CA, USA

They keep calling to talk about credit scores etc.

it is a recorded message that tells me someone in the state of Alabama has my SS# and is trying to use it to file a tax return. got a second call from Texas for the same thing which has already been reported per the internet.

received a call asking if I was "name"

I instinctively answered "yes" at which point the caller hung-up.

Suspect this to be a phishing call just to obtain a "yes" response.

I received a call from this phone number. The person said my name and they sounded a bit strange. I replied with "What" and they person on the phone said may name, I replied "yes" and they hung up. I'm guessing they are trying to use my "Yes" reply for some use like opening up a credit card. It was early in the morning so I wasn't thinking 100%, I know better than to say "yes" just be careful everyone and just ask "who is this calling and what is it in regards to".

I tried to call the number back and it appears to be a bogus phone line. Hence the reason I think this person is going to try to use it against me in a scam or to open a credit card.

"Yes" scam. Asked me if I could hear them. I answered "yes" and they hung up. The telephone number they called from was 1-816-708-3127. I have received several calls from this number before and ignored it. Decided to finally answer since no one would leave a message.

I received a call from 404-334-4159 around 11:20 AM this morning. Did not recognize the number so I did not answer the call. Caller did not leave voice mail. I "googled" the number; result stated that it was some kind of "travel scam" that someone had reported on 01-03-2018. I am reporting it to BBB.

Thank you for your assistance in stopping this scam.

Received a text message stating the following. "Dear User, Your credit card is charged with 499.99 for 1 year PC Tech Support. If you did not authorize this transaction, please call 18664179500 immediately." I did not call the number but wanted to report this information to you. I verified with my banks and accounts that nothing was charged. I just wanted to make you aware of this phishing scam.

- Porter Ranch, CA, USA

Machine sounds female. "I'm calling long distance, can you hear me?" I said yes. I've never heard of this scam. My wife heard me respond, nudged me with her elbow and said to hang up it's a scam. Machine asked if still used visa or MasterCard. Even had a slight stutter to simulate human error or tendencies.
