Received a phone call on January 4th. The caller asked me if my name was Richard I said "yeah", then he hung up. I'm worried that he recorded the "yeah" in means to scam my voice.

We have an iphone and someone used our apple id and took out $500.00 from it we searched the apple fraud number and found this number they told us we had to purchase 2 iTunes card for $100 each so they could refund us through the cards so we did called them back and they took the money out of the card and kept it they are scammers. I called back to complain and he told me to take his name down and dream about him! Now we are out that money because of these scammers this number needs to be closed down

Scammer phone acting like a credit card employee trying to reduce your interest rate.

To prove they're legit, they tell you that they have the first 4 digits of your credit card, such as 6011 for Discover, and of course they only could know that if they were from Discover. (The "trick" is that that is public info - all discover cards start with 6011). They then try to get other info to verify your account, such as full credit card and last 4 of SSN (they "only" needed the last 4 digits, not like a "scammer who needs the whole 9... of course last 4 is all they need).

Liars and thieves.

Phone the number on your credit card, do NOT tell the stranger anything!

If you phone their number back, then you get just a VM, not even a legitimate company.

Claimed to have refund of 345 because of faulty computer programs I purchased in February 2016 for 699 from “AccoyWeb”. I entered my bank account numbers and the refund amount of 345 but 4345 deposit appeared in my checking account deposit. Brian then instructed me to go to Target and purchase 4-1000 gift cards and call him back with the numbers. I hung up and instantly changed my passwords to my bank accounts. The next morning I cancelled my accounts and opened new ones. The bank informed m

Received a call from someone saying that they were a data verification company and that the call was being recorded. They asked if my current phone number was still the best way to get a hold of me, and before I could stop and think, and I had already said yes. They said thank you and hung up, which is when it occurred to me that they only wanted to get a recording of me saying yes.

Called and asked my wife if her name was Mrs. ***. She said 'Yes' then they hung up. Tried to call the number back multiple time but it was busy then would disconnect.

Asked if I would Tell friends about a travel group also other calls asked if I used Certain products or if I used Certain financial institutions. Received 15 calls in 3 hour with varied questions trying to get me to say yes... when I said No or anything the recording continued and then just cut off and hung up..

Have gotten multiple calls from this number. Today, when I replied "yes" to their questioning if they were speaking to Molly Aronhime, they immediately hung up.

Answered the phone, there was a pause till a voice finally picked up on the other end. Asked, "Can you hear me?" And claimed they were calling regarding tax documents and information.

I got an email that said take a survey and get a $50 gift card. So i took the survey at the end it said complete offer to get code so i chose garcinia weightloss pills pay $4.95 s&h. I checked my bank it took out 2 seperate charges and the number next to the charge on my bank was answered hello. I said where did i call and then she said i need to know what department to transfer you to so can you explain your problem. I said I did the survey and the gift card code wouldn't work and i don't want the product if i cant get the gift card. She said we don't work w that company. I said so you just charged my card but don't work w the company? And she hung up on me. I have cancelled my bank card and have to wait for it to post before i can dispute it. I guess i know now to pay attention to the sender. I thought it was from Amazon because the subject line said welcome to amazon

Random Manchester number called me asked if it was my last name, I said yes who's this? They disconnected and now its out of service. I've read a lot online saying never answer yes, but this particular number is disconnected now. Unsure of what this was about or if it is the scam that's been circulating.

I received a call at 2:39pm today and asked if they were speaking to me (using my name) and I said "yes" and they hung up. I know better than to do this but I was sure it was my dentist's office returning my call. (it was the same area code that the call came from) I know there are scams using your voice once they have recorded an affirmative response and am quite concerned so I am reporting this to you now.

I hope this will help me should I encountered problems due to this call.

Thank you.

This person sent me text message with their phone number asking me about a bike I have for sale. I don't have a bike for sale I n my craigslist account. Someone possibly sent my phone number as point of contact that I'm unaware of which in my case would be very unusual without me knowing this. This is the second person sending me a inquiry about a bike for sale. This last entity that sent me this said they would send me a money order or cashiers check on Monday and someone would be by to pic it up. I told them "NO" ... they continued with asking me to provide them with my name address and phone number ect for them in order to send me this check. I told them (this all via text to the number they provided me)... I don't do business with anyone only in person. Also that I didn't have a bike for sale. Although I have been thinking of putting my bike on Craigslist to sell. I thought this was all so strange. Likr was some one reading my mind. But luckily I have had someone try to scam me quite a few times now. I'm going to start reporting them all. I don't do business unless I'm face to face with buyer and I have company everytime. I hope you catch these people and these people just so happen to admit to themselves and me that they are scammers. The second to the last messages I sent was "[censored]" and they replied "your father" ...... the last massage I sent was "you'll have to answer to the lord above when your time comes for what you're trying to do to people, scamming this way, you'll see" .... they didn't reply to that..... and I wasn't thinking but I erased the messages. Now wish I hadn't but at least I wrote down their email address and phone number. I hope you all catch um. All I think about is the not so fortunate out there that are naive to all this as I once was. God bless you this holiday season.

Called from boiler room operation (lots of background chatter) said they were from Microsoft and the internet security on my computer had been compromise

I have no idea what this call is about. I receive calls from the same area code and prefix, but the last 4 digits change. I block the number every time, but they call back with the last 4 digits different. It says "select 1" to talk to customer service, 2 to put on do-not-call list. I have tried both numbers, but I never talk to anyone and they keep calling back.

Hung up once I said "ok". :-/

I made such a stupid mistake!

- Sullivan, MO, USA

The calls started 2 months ago. A recorded voice with the name of Melody, very young, informed me I needed to call back within 3 days to have my college loan forgiven. After I blocked the first call, the number changed many times. In this month of Nov. 2017, it is now my area code with over 50 calls with the same message from a man. This man sounds live, he sounds impatient with me that I won't return calls. In Sept., I had from the call date to the 30th of Sept. to "take advantage of this govt. program". Same voice mostly, varying to an African-American woman. I have blocked over 50 numbers. No money lost. Sometimes they hang up on me if I answer and tell them that whatever the name of the loan holder, it isn't my govt. loan's name.

Not sure what if anything you can do about this, but someone has stolen my personal cell phone number and they're using it for scamming. I have received multiple calls of strangers claiming they received a call from my number even though I have not made any calls and there is nothing on my outgoing phone logs. I don't know how to stop/report this or what can be done to stop this person from using my number, especially if they are able to succeed at gathering someone else's personal information and then when that victim figures out it was fake, they're going to be calling ME back since it's my phone number that the scammer stole and used. I do not want to change my personal phone number as I've had this number for decades and it is used for both personal and work and I would have to update an entire healthcare institution and all contacts I know of a new number, also there is nothing from stopping the scammer from stealing my new phone number if I switch to a new number so I really hope something can be done to stop this and catch the criminal without me having to change numbers.
