VM was left saying that there were “4 serious allegations” against me & I must call them at 516-495-8014 so as to not be taken into custody by law enforcement. They never said their name or business, nor did they give any specific infix information. It was a recording.

This is a scare tactic. I received a telephone call which was a recording stating that the IRS is planning a lawsuit against me. I was instructed to call immediately.

No business or contact name, just a phone number for me to call. It didn't even say my name or reason. It sounds very shady as the IRS does not make such calls and contacts people in writing.

The number was 554-370-4560.

May 9, 2018, 8:35 am. A phone call was received from a woman named Mrs. Eubanks. She did not state what company she was with. She did state the name of the person she was trying to contact and for the stated person or her attorney to call her back with her social security number at xxx Ext. 225. She then stated they would be processing this through Shelby County. The stated person attempted to call back at the number given and got a vague recording. The recording did not give a company name. All that was stated was that the person at that extension could not be reached and to "leave your name and a telephone number where you could be reached."

The message received from an unknown number was to call back about legal allegations pressed against my name (no specifics) As I've never had any legal actions filed against me in the past nor arrest records, I'm pretty confident this is complete garbage, especially when the message I recieved was identical to that of one highlighted in a new report.

I've now received calls from two different numbers. 516-462-9451 and 347-349-9828.

Received 3 voicemails from IRS within 1/2 hour stating I would be taken into custody due to 4 serious allegations. The robocall requested that I cal them back to discuss the case before they take legal action against me. Stated I had 24 hours to respond.

I'm selling a car, this guy texted saying he was interested and wanted me to run a VIN check via accuratevin.com. I texted him the VIN was on the ad and he could do it. He ignored that and kept asking me to do it, said he was interested in the car but needed that first. I told him to give me his name, email, and phone # for the report. He ignore that and asked me to send him the report again. So then I told him I was reporting him to the BBB. Haven't heard from him again.

I get a call from this number +1 203-907-7890 and it says that my credit cards are being paid on time, congratulations. I am approved for an interest rate blah blah blah. And that ask you to press one to speak with a representative or 3 to opt out. I have opted out over 20 times. This last time I pressed 1 and asked to speak with a supervisor....they hung up. I called back and left a voicemail only to find out it was a persons cell number that was used illegally. Other numbers I'm sure are to follow. The people answering "are not" American.

I have received multiple calls from this phone number stating that they are calling regarding student federal loans. They will not give me further information about what company they are working for and are asking for financial information. Whenever questioned they just disconnect the phone. I have asked to be removed from the call list on other occasions and they hang up but one time told me they are unable to do that. I have asked to be mailed the information rather than give the information via phone and they also hang up.

This company or individual keeps calling with different phone numbers. The scam is different every time and, I have asked them to stop calling me. I'm at the phone I want to delete my phone number for good.

I’ve been receiving calls from numbers that are very similar to mine for almost a year. The origin of the call is always from Monroe, NC, which is where I lived when I entered into my cell phone contract. The phone # varies, but is always in the following format: [my area code]-[first 3 digits of my cell]-[last 4 digits of my cell in different order].

The few times I’ve answered, it’s been a recording that is already talking by the time I’ve answered. Purports to be selling health insurance. I’m a law student and will file suit if I could figure out who is behind it. I’ve used all the public record searches available to me with no luck. Definitely seems like they’re cloaking themselves in an identity similar to mine.

I have no clue who this company is or how they got my number. I have requested to be removed from their calling list multiple times and the agents just laugh, hang up, one even said he was going to look me up on snap chat. Absolutely ridiculous that nobody has shut this down.

I usually do not answer unknown numbers but this one looked familiar. I know not to answer "yes" when they say "Can you hear me okay" - but this one just asked "is this ***" and I said yes. They hung up. I checked the number and it was a call that had a lot of complaints, one was a roofing scam. In January my neighbor and I were delivering meals on wheels and were carjacked. Our purses were in the car. We got them back but had already cancelled all of our credit cards and changed our bank accounts. I've heard that scammers record "yes" when you answer and use the "yes" to charge things, etc. I don't know if that is true but was told I should report it to BBB Scam Tracker.

I'm reporting this for a record of the phone call.

This business said they were a financial institution that helps with reducing your student loan. The message I received on my phone asked me to call back the number 949-408-0006. When I called the number back someone answered the phone and asked me how much I owed. No introduction of the company or anything. When i asked What I was hung up on.

I received recorded message that if I didn't pay money on some phony debt that I did not owe, they would have the police sent out to arrest me. I returned the call and they do not say the name but that I should "hold for the next available agent". The phone number is 831-287-1571 which originates from Salinas CA. This is another of my ongoing scam calls I have had recently. I do not speak with them because I cannot answer my phone quickly enough. Now I will not answer unless I recognize the number.

I had received voice mail messages after the initial phone call from 614-557-7068. I have asked the name of the company and they will not answer. They hung up when I asked where they were from. This call message said it was for debt collection on a credit card I did not have.

The Man claimed to be a Tech support with Apple Computers. He called himself Mark Adams. There was a second Tech named Robert. I had just had my apple mac book for two months and was not aware of the basic information that Apple offers. One being the Firewall. I was on my computer when it started to with one pop up after another. Then I got a message that my computer was compromised and that I would need to contact Apple to get help. Then a screen popped up with a apple sign and a number for tech support. The man on the phone told me that I would need to purchase additional firewall protection and that I could pay today with a scanned check of 184.43 for one year. After scanning them a check they asked to be able to get into my computer to clean up the virus that was shutting my computer down. That is when Robert came in as the Tech from Bridgeway Inc. He gave me a 855-811-4814 number and said to not call no one else. That is when I knew that this was not right. I found another number from Apple and called. They told me to stop the share with them and take it to the closest Apple Store. I called my bank to make them aware of the threat on my account, and set up identity thief protection to protect my identity. I then headed to a Apple store. The scammers started to call me over and over. I was so upset and felt so violated. I asked them to cancel the check that I could not go through with this transaction and that I would need to just go to a store. They are still calling me from this number but I will block it and the other number as well. Apple may have his real name and are looking into this already. I am so upset! This was 5 hour of high stress. Plus I will spend every day keeping an eye on all my accounts. Please be careful.
