This website is Sponsored on Google, so it is one of the first results for the search "Passport Application." The website appears, at a glance, to be a legitimate government website; however, it is a private company that charges nearly $200 to send a printed passport application to you. Essentially, you are paying for nothing, as the application is free to print on the legitimate U.S. Government website. Further, cancellation is extremely difficult to accomplish on a timely basis. I accidentally placed my order at approximately 10:55 a.m., requested a cancellation before 11:00 a.m., and then received a "shipping notification" at 11:27 a.m. After calling customer service, I was told that they were able to retrieve the "package" and would process a refund, minus the $27 shipping cost. I plan to dispute the $27 shipping charge with my credit card company's help.

When researching how to update my passport after getting married to reflect a name change, I was directed to this website, which mimicked the official department of state website for passport renewals. It showed all the application information and looked as if you are just filling out the application online and paying to have it shipped to you once processed through the government. Only to see after payment was received did it clarify that they are only providing you with the application to send to the government for an additional $130 fee.

Posed as a government website for obtaining a passport. Paid $242.95 and they sent me papers that I could get at the post office for free.

Their website was the first to appear under sponsored sites when looking to apply for a child's passport. I hesitated before paying but fear identity theft

Attempted to renew passport. Google’s search engine took me directly to a government presenting website and charged almost 300$ for a service that was not provided. I tried to ask for a refund with no success. There is no phone number available on the website
