I received a robocall claiming to be from the health plan of my disabled adult dependent, with an important health benefits information. The robocall asked for my dependent by name, indicating they knew my number, my dependent’s name, and my dependent’s health care plan. The call asked whether I was the responsible party. Without thinking, I accidentally said “yes”. The call attempted to get me to enter information and I hung up. I looked up the number and it is a scam. It has nothing to do with the health insurer. Now I worry that I might have put my dependent at risk.
