Type of a scam Debt Collections
On each phone call, the same person by the name Lisa Green, was the rep.
1.) TMG calls me (an "emergency contact") to inform that a relative was notified numerous times in regards to a fraud investigation. We had an OK initial call, I got the case number from the rep and told my relative to call, while we both remained skeptical.
2.) Relative calls TMG, the rep became belligerent when she noticed the skepticism in my relatives voice. The rep had the wrong name (last name had changed years ago) and the relative refused to give them the current name. Rep became aggressive and resorted to a bullying tactic, calling my relative unprofessional and made fun of her age?
3.) I called them back remaining kind, calm, and respectful but still looking for answers in case it's real. I talked to the same person again, I thought we had an OK relationship from the initial call. This time was different. She started by trash talking my relative and said "We are very busy, we don't have time to be belittled by you if you are unwilling to work with us. We notified you as a courtesy, we ask the questions, not you. Its not our job to help you." I said "Ma'am I am tying to work with you, I apologize if we got off on the wrong foot but I'm still confused, do you have a website I can get more information from?". Puts me on hold and tells me to google their name. Eventually I just hang up. If someone representing a "company" is immediately combative, it's usually a red flag. If they are acting like YOU are the scammer, its a red flag.
