I received an email stating that information would be given about Bluegreen timeshares being bought by Hilton. When we got to the meeting, the information was all about how much the maintenance fees will be over the next 30 years, and how we will never be able to get out of the contract. It was emphasized that our children will be saddled with the timeshare and that they will have to pay for the rest of their lives. We were then asked some questions about how we felt about the timeshare and what was explained to us when we purchased it. The lady running the meeting, Eileen (no last name) said that because we answered the questions saying that we were not informed of all of the fees and such, we could get out of the contract. Based on the number of points we have, she said that it would cost us $5,900, and that we must decide right then if we wanted to pay or not. I specifically asked if we had a three-day period in which to back out of the deal. She said that we had those three days by law. I then paid with a credit card.

After finding out that the business address is a virtual office and that the law firm that they said they were connected with does not have an office at all, I made several attempts to call and cancel my contract with them. I got no answer and have not received a return call. I emailed them stating that I wanted out of the contract and pointing out that the email was being sent less than 24 hours after signing the contract. I called the credit card company to attempt to stop payment but was told that I must wait until the charge went through and then dispute the charge. I will do this!
