This dealership took advantage of my 86 year old service connected disabled dad. Online they posted a “No Hassle Price Online” of $47k for a 2020 Cadillac Escalade. When my dad went to digitally sign the forms, Devin Agee, Finance Manager, deceptively switched the price on the Bill of Sale to $53K ($6k increase) instead of the $47k that was posted online. Sadly, my 86 year old disabled couldn’t visually see the sneaky change Devin made through his (Devin’s) computer screen while my dad was digitally signing the forms.
So, unbeknownst to my dad, Devin had deceived him and overcharged him by $6,000+. Also, instead of giving my dad paper versions of the forms he had just signed, Devin deliberately put the forms on a Zip drive that had to be opened on a personal computer. So, it wasn’t until I got my dad home that we opened up the files on the Zip Drive and discovered that Devin had cheated my dad out of $6,000+.
I left messages with Devin and, of course, I never received a reply. I elevated the issue via email to the company managers, Ryan Fuller ([email protected]) and Steven Jones ([email protected]), and, of course, neither of them replied. I also mentioned the issue to the Salesman, Travis Winters, who nonchalantly blew me off and still hasn’t given my dad the second key to his vehicle.
Thompson Cadillac in Raleigh should be ashamed of themselves. I would have expected better from a family owned business carrying the Cadillac name. If they’ll cheat an 86 year old disabled veteran out of $6,000+, I can only imagine what other deceptive things they do to all their other customers. Thompson Cadillac can’t be trusted.
