I am a self-published author. The scammer approached me with the possibility of my book being published by a major publishing house. There was an implication that I would need to pay for a lawyer who handled intellectual property, and she was going to give me the name of one of "her people." I began to think she'd have other services I would need to "purchase." I suspected a scam afterwards, and in fact found information on the internet that this was, in fact, a scam.
