It has been a great experience working with the magazine and the people around I don't think this is a legit request these are usually done by people who cannot afford to buy the advertisement for their company and it clearly states that the branding package is optional which is clear to understand I believe

This website advertises itself as a magazine. A member of my business received a request to be part of the top 20 women in leadership award and was asked to pay $3000 to be listed. The site has no address listed. The list I was asked to pay for only has 13 women on its top 20 women leaders and 14 in other "top 20" categories from the previous year. Articles on the blog hadn't been updated since January. The LinkedIn profile listing its employees only includes salespeople who have no prior experience listed beyond THIS magazine. The CEO is from Uganda with a private, locked-down account. No writers. It is NOT a magazine. It is a link farm scam. This is false advertising. If you're being featured as a leader in a real magazine, you don't need to pay them for it. The website is a basic WordPress setup with numerous issues - design flaws, grammatical errors, etc. They don't even have analytics set up. You can't register for the "events" listed on their events page. Please, please, please do not fall for this. Even if you are a business looking for links to boost your SEO efforts, don't pay $3,000 for them. Any professional organization in your field offers online registries for significantly less money and with more digital clout. BUYER BEWARE!

The award never comes with a cost associated with it and I believe if you are paying to get some additional benefits with the recognition then there is nothing wrong with it. These reasons of having WordPress website and event section does not make any sense because most of the website today is built on WordPress and once they are magazine they cannot sell event tickets if they are not hosting it. If you are using this platform to put down some brands then it is a very wrong process. If you are from a publication background you would understand that any employee does not wish to showcase their previous experience in their profile if they are from a competitor company. If you are not interested to accept the award you can simply say no rather than posting this without a legit reason.
