The scammer had an instagram account as a realtor at a legitimate business, Skyward Keller Williams Realty and used the name of a real person. They were advertising apartments in Manhattan so I contacted them on instagram to say I was interested. They sent me a link to a form on the company website: https://skywardkellerwilliamsrealtors.com/ to complete the form and submit a refundable payment of $200 to hold the viewing slot. I had issues with the form so used the chat function to speak to support who gave me details for who to pay so I submitted an Apple Cash payment as requested but then they refused to give me email confirmation and said contact the agent on instagram. The instagram account also would not give me confirmation. I googled the company and realtor which seem to be real but the account and website are not the official ones. They used real photos and videos of a realtor based in Ohio and the website seems to be a fake version of the real one without the realtor I communicated with on there. I have had no confirmation of my payment and cannot get a refund through my bank or Apple as it was paid to a personal account rather than a business. I have not received any information regarding the apartment I wanted to view and they have stopped responding completely, so I have lost the money and never received the service I expected.
