I ordered a quilted patchwork hoodie in XL. Turns out the quilting was printed on - the XL was so small that I couldn't get it over my head. It was a cheap printed fabric. They claimed 30 days return policy. I emailed them to get info on a return. They offered me to keep the one I had and then for $17 dollars they would send me another in a larger size. Once I asked for a refund - they stopped answering my emails.

I placed an order through their website https://harperwells-boston.com. Their return policy states: 30-day money back guarantee. I have followed their directions and attempted several times to reach them to return most of my order. They send an email (appears to be an automatic email) noting someone will get back to me within 24 hours. They never do, however, they send me solicitation emails daily to sell more products. I have determined this is a Scam and they will not honor their return policy nor get back to me.

ORDERED MERCHANDISE ONLINE ON JULY 12 2026. CHARGED MY CARD TWICE ON THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE SAME AMOUNT. COMPANY CALLS ITSELF HARPER WELLS OF BOSTON BUT THEY ARE PROBABLY FROM OVERSEAS. CLAIM EASY RETURNS. MERCHANDISE ARRIVED AUGUST 1. VERY POOR QUALITY. NOTHING LIKE WHAT ON THE PHOTOS. WRINKLED, NO STICKERS. WHEN REQUESTED RETURN AND REFUND, SAID THEY WOULD REFUND ONLY 15% OF THE PRICE.

WHY IS THIS SCAMMER STILL OPERATING ON THE INTERNET? How many more people have to fall victim before something is done?

I queried the web for luxury white sandals and their website came up, among others. Had no suspicion they were bogus. Had I done my homework, I never would have bought from them. Now more people will suffer my fate. Still, I submit my experience to help others avoid my plight.

I ordered and within 1-3 days tried to cancel. They told me it was too late. Weeks later the dresses arrived and for 3 weeks I've been trying to return them. The best offer that was given is 40% cash back. And they tried to ship me replacement without me wanting anything. I didn't place or accept another offer but its in transit supposedly. FRAUD!

The product sandals sent was of inferior quality than the photo represented. I emailed support that it doesnt fit and is uncomfortable. Support response was the return process would be costly and time consuming via international customs etc. But they offered me 15% refund and to select an additional product for no cost.

The ad for Harper & Wells was on a news website -- I think it was The Atlantic but I also subscribe to the NYTimes, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The Guardian so it could have been one of those. My incident is exactly as described by the May 12, 2026 writer with the exception that "Emily Parker" did not say I would be shipping back to China. I'm glad I only lost $49.95 but I should have wised up when I saw the Chinese parent company on the website. I was reassured with the website showing the warehouse location in The Netherlands.

Ordered 2 items and both were nothing like photo and description. One claimed it was a cotton/linen blend and was actually a polyester knit. Another was photographed as though it was chiffon and cut full in the skirt, whereas it was actually a polyester knit and cut narrow. Both had poor quality prints that were not like the photographs.

I did not request money back because the items were presents, but other people have reported that the company would not refund their money or would only refund a small fraction.

This is a bait and switch company that appears to be run out of China. The main addresses on the website are two residential houses. I don’t believe they operate in the USA.
