Type of a scam Online Purchase

I initially ordered a dress online. When the item was not received by reported shipping date, I emailed the company. The first response was to give it a few more days as it was at the post office. I waited a few more days and emailed again. The response was an apology with a request to wait a few more days as the issue was at the post office. They also said upon my receiving the dress I would get a 10% refund as well as a 40% off code to use with my next purchase. After waiting more than a week (now at 5 weeks post order), there is still no dress and my “tracking number”’ via a third party “shop” shows it is in MCDonough, GA but says, “shipping label created USPS awaits item 12/11/22, on 12/13/22 it says arrived ship partner site usps awaits item. Mind you, I ordered the dress 11/15/22. The item is still not there and has never been there. Last but not least, the thing that made me most assured that this was a scam is the last email from them said, and I quote, the item is getting removed from the post office and will be flown to me?????? Okay, that was when I knew this was a scam for sure.
