Type of a scam Employment
I applied for the job position role of remote Data Entry Clerk for the company SITA (Societe Internationale de telecommunicatio) https://www.sita.aero, a company that provides IT business solutions and communication services to the air transport industry via diversityjobboard.com. I received an email sent by the company's Senior Vice President of Human resources, Alina Lonescuto, who set up an interview via Skype with SITA Hiring Manager, Pat Schmitt, who conducted the interview through chat. After the interview, I was given the job position. And was instructed via email by Alina Lonescuto, the Senior Vice President of Human Resources) to send over a copy of my state, W-4 Form, and a signed contract. Including being told to do two different tasks by writing 1-2 page papers on a topic that they assigned. I then had to send back to their email [email protected] However, when it came to talks about the materials and supplies I need to start training and the job, I was emailed two checks, one for $1950 and another for $2,350 to buy the materials I need through a vendor of theirs. The first check I was told to make three transactions of $500 via Zelle which went through to someone listed as Jonah Albaugh. Then another for $450 via Apple Cash to a number 1(443-742-2692). But the second check for $2350 was put on hold by my bank (TD Bank). I went today on 6/28/2022 because I realized that I've been locked out of my account. To only be told by a representative and the branch manager at my bank that my account has been closed and my savings has been frozen due to the two checks being fraudulent. I’ve been reaching out via email to the company about this situation and the Hiring Manager Pat Schmitt, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.
Hey there! I was contacted by the same scam! It is great to know you posted this article. I applied for a similar job and was contacted by Alina Lonescuto who forwarded me to Pat Schmitt. Although the email they used was [email protected] Sorry for your loss, but your article saved me the headache of giving them my personal information. It was a very elaborate ruse.
