Dale Simmons was hired to build an addition to our home about 3-4 years ago. He stole money from the building account and left us in a big mess, with an unfinished house. We are living on retirement income and this was devastating to us. We sued in the Polk County district Court and won a judgement of over $30,000.00. We have never received a penny of that judgement to date. We subsequently had to hire 2 more contractors to finish and repair the shoddy work done to our home. We found several other people who Dale pilfered money from and didn't finish the work he had been paid to do. This is an unscrupulous man who is not to be trusted.

My husband was given a job by this man who called himself Dale. Said his full name is Wardner Dale Simmons. Within the first two weeks of him working with Dale, the other men working for him kept making complaints about how they hadn't been paid in weeks and weeks, and then everyone but my husband quit. Dale gave him a sob story about how he isn't getting paid either, and that he is struggling as well and to ple[censored]d on a little longer. After two months and still no legitimate paycheck (one handwritten check for $100, $40 in cash once, and $200 in cash once, all several weeks apart), the last time my husband went to work with him he had asked how much longer it would be before they were paid, and Dale just told him to go ahead and find another job. It's been over a week since then, and we have yet to hear a single word from him asking why he no longer wants to work (not that he doesn't already know, anyways), if he had a check for him; none of it. I looked up his company "Simmons General Contractors" on your website, and I saw that they were unlisted. So I started digging a little deeper and I saw on one address that that was considered a fictitious company. I really don't know what to do about this considering the damage is done, two months of work with very, very little pay has already happened. I just want to make sure that the word gets out there that there is a dishonest man who will make you believe that he will help you "get rich quick" and then take you for every ounce of free labor you are capable of. If he were to for some reason read this later, shame on you, Dale. That was wrong, and incredibly dishonest, but you are forgiven because if anything we've just learned to do some research before trusting any type of "business-man."
