The next day he coated the entire driveway with a black shiny substance. For the two areas needed patching he emptied bags of what looked like granular asphalt, dumped gasoline out of his leaf blower, asked if I had any more gasoline (I didn't) and set it on fire. I found that very unorthodox. He used the tires of his truck to compress the asphalt and said not to disturb it for two days. He said he'd be back the next day for the driveway lip but wanted an advance which I paid to him by check.
He didn't come back the next day. My uneasiness grew when I noticed that he cashed my check the very day that I wrote it. The asphalt patches stayed soft to the touch for days and then weeks. I called him to complain and to have him "make things right". He eventually came back one day and said that I wasn't letting the patches cure because I had covered them with plywood.( I didn't want asphalt all over my car). He said he'd redo the patches if I wouldn't cover them. I agreed. I said do you have the material to do that today. He said "no". I communicated my displeasure. We went back and forth and found out THAT HE WAS RECORDING ME WITH HIS CELL PHONE! I was livid. I told him to leave immediately and contacted my local police dept.
I'm happy to say that a police officer contacted this con man but only after calling from five different phone numbers to evade his screening him. I don't know what he told him but I found a stack of $20 bills in an envelope under my front door mat one day which reimbursed me all but $80. Rocky Mitchell drives a silver pick up truck with PA plates *******. He's a very smooth talker but is full of lies, deceit and manipulation. Do NOT do business with this dirtball.
