I joined a private group on Facebook called Doodle Puppies for Adoption/Rehoming. I noticed that another breeder I know is a member as are some friends of friends. I saw a dog I loved and I DM'd the person as that's what they asked. That person is/was Adam Marino. I thought we got the dog per our conversation; however, he said I was too slow and gave the dog away. He suggested I reach out to his friend @ Robert Murphy which I had before but wasn't ready for a new dog. I reached back out and Robert Murphy sent a photo of a bernedoodle he "had." His price was $1000 with delivery which seemed like a good deal for the pup. We agreed. Robert Murphy asked if I wanted to pay in full or 50 down and 50 upon delivery. I said the latter. Without seeing the pup live and seeing the strangeness of the contract, I never should have done it, but I thought because of the glowing reviews about him, the closed group and knowing a breeder in the group, it was a safe bet. He asked me to Zelle his son, Tavion Watson $500. My bank would not do it, which should have been another clue. Robert asked me to use Apple Cash, which I don't have, but I got an account to send him the money. We agreed that the pup would be delivered the week of April 30. A few days later, Robert messaged me that the remainder of my payment was due. I told him that we agreed on 50/50 and that is what I was sticking to. Then he asked me for $250 saying the dogs needed food and would die without it. At this point I pretty much knew it was a scam, yet I wanted to believe in the goodness of humans. I told him no and we agreed on April 29, 2pm delivery at my house. He then messaged that he required $200 from the balance on April 21. At this point I was done so I told him that I was not going to pay a dime more until the dog is delivered. His response: LMAO okay. I waited until 2:30pm today as he did not show at 2pm to ask where he was. His response: You didn't send the 200$. A scam.
