Type of a scam Employment

A person claiming to be Kristin Rigby phone number 1(213)732-2556 said they had seen my resume and i looked like a good candidate for Rldatix. She told me i needed to download Microsoft Team app. Where i could have the interview with Tony Morris who does the hiring for Rldatix company. His email is [email protected] he interviewed and hired me for a remote job. He sent me a check for $4738 to purchase equipment. He told me to deposit it thru the ATM and send him a picture of my deposit slip. I did not do that i went into the bank and spoke to the branch manager. The name of the business on the check was Geico General Insurance Company the check was with Bank of America. The account numbers was real. But they could not verify the check name account and the business were linked together. My bank said they could put a 7day hold on the check to make sure funds were available. When i told Tony Morris this he quickly responded and said DO NOT deposit the check shred it and they will send me the equipment directly instead. Then he asked for me to take a picture of my drivers license front and back along with my social security number to him to get the hiring started. I refused. Then he said i needed to have a work phone and they would reimburse me for the cost of the phone. That i needed to go to my phone company and purchase one and send it to him so they can install their software on it and send it back to me. I again refuesed. And at this time he had a guy who said he was Darrell Johnson Cheif Stratergy Officer with Rldatix. The number he called from was 1-412-927-1181... he agreed that they would purchase the phone and send it to me. Then Tony Morris contacted me and told me in order to purchase the phone he neede me to send him my account information and log in so he could purchase it. I again told him no. In which case he said i was un able to be employed. I have attached a picture of the check that was sent to me.

Thank you for posting this. It prevented me from getting further in the same scam process with this "Tony Morris". I was overnighted two checks that I have shredded and reported this along with another person on the BBB website for Scam Tracking. Pretty sad how much time you and I wasted and the disappointment in thinking we had a job lined up. I am concerned how many people have actually deposited the money they send. I hope Tony & his crew get caught & imprisoned for life.
