I had the same thing happen to me like the lady in a complaint awhile back they lock up the pc and say there microsoft and had me write a check for $680. well, I cancel the check and went to pc matic and bought there lifetime security, now they call my home and cell every 10 minutes and I just block them out. This happened 12/29/21

Took complete control of my Lap Top , Windows Logo , could not delete , pulled power , DUH , Battery charged 100 % . HAD to call number on screen , serious hack going on , etc ...sounded like India accent , barely understand English speaking ( Alice ) . Had me on phone 1 ' 45" while Alice took mouse out of my control , see her in every file I had ...OK , fixed it ...$489 + . No Credit Card , check or Money order. Wanted Ck # , amount , etc . Mail today ...or computer diabled ...went as far as wanting to show them Check on Camera on lap top , which I have taped closed ...Grabbed lap top & took to my computer guys ...to check . Meanwhile calling my cell & wife's phone ( that I never gave them ) every 2-3 hrs . Told my guys to watch for " poison Pill " inserted . Not only did they not " fix " anything , added some very nasty malware portals. My Guys found " poison Pill " & destroyed it . As soon as did , the day 2 of all calls , threats , etc ...vanished , stopped went away . Pill they destroyed if not done would have been complete destruction of all Software ...

On Sunday Nov 21 I clicked on Target website for their weekly ad. As soon as I clicked on it, 3 screens started flashing on my computer screen. I could not do anything on my pc. It just kept flashing. In the lower right corner was a box with the Microsoft logo and a phone number. After some thought I clicked on the box and got a phone number. A lady answer and asked a few questions referring to the flashing. I truly thought I was talking to Microsoft. After many questions she transferred me to a man. Then he proceeded to tell me I had no virus protection or firewall and that they could fix it. When he added it all up the cost was $829.99! That's when I talked to my husband and he said I was hacked and this was a scam. I immediately unplugged my pc. Someone called me twice telling me to turn my pc back on. I said no. Now I am getting phone calls and texts demanding that I pay my bill. I called my pc guy and he said they wiped out all my security and were in the process of installing their own. He repaired my pc and I am in the process of changing all my passwords.
