Type of a scam Online Purchase

Quantum Discovery has been scamming my grandmother for almost a year. They told her they wanted to republish a book she wrote 10 years ago. They sent fake emails from the American Book Association saying they wanted to purchase 25000 books which they subsequently used to ask for more money. The tactic employed is that they keep pretending theirs some big order coming in and they just need more money in the meantime, but that it will be here soon. They also convinced her she needed to pay to have a screen play written to pitch to Amazon. When I reached out to the supposed companies they informed me that they were being impersonated by Quantum Discovery. Quantum also said that she needed to pay to have her book at an international book convention, I called the convention and they said her book wasn’t even there. I have told her it’s a scam but the women she’s in contact with calls her almost every day and speaks to her for hours about church, and her upbringing. She has formed a personal bond with her and thinks she is “so nice she could never do this.” Many people have written about their experiences with this scammer and the unfortunate amount of money was lost. I’m not sure if they’re even based in America.
