Type of a scam Employment
The long version from my FTC complain:
I applied to a job on Indeed under the company Smart Systems. The next day I was contacted about the position.
I was later interviewed via Zoom video chat that afternoon. Still the same day, I was called to let me know the job was mine if I wanted
it. From this point, getting started at the new job stopped happening in a normal way. To begin training, they needed me to observe
an in person demonstration of the product I would be selling, but the first chance to do that would be 10 days later. The
person that is supposed to be my boss is the one that came out to do the product demonstration. At the end of that, I believe
this may be approaching pyramid scheme territory, but not fully, I was not required to purchase a roughly $3400 machine, but they
definitively wanted me to. 2 days later, I would be invited to a Slack group on the app. Ever since then I have
been "Training" on the same script since then. I have not finished training and it's 3 days short of when I signed documents to start working for this company.
I tried to contact them through their social media team, asking to chat with someone that handled employees.
But the interaction only made things worse, they told me information completely contradictory to what the person that recruited me and the person that did the demonstration have both instructed me.
This is not a job, yet it was posted on Indeed like it is a real job
