I received a call this morning from a gentleman asking if I was home? Had I checked my mail this morning for notification of winning the Publishers Clearing House $2.5Million prize? I foolishly told him I wasn't home (however I have neighbors watching the house for me) The caller informed me I needed to contact -- Joe Carter at 1-876-0653 to arrange delivery of the registration for me to receive the $2.5Million check. I would then need to go to the local WalMart and confirm the registration, along with the men who will be delivering the check, and they would receive 2% of the $2.5Million once we take the registration slip & the $2.5Million check to my bank.

I told him I've never heard of the winnings being handled this way. He said it was because of the "new government" that they had to take the 2.5% once I put the check in my bank.

I gave them no personal information, no bank name or account number. I did however, give the man on the phone an alternative address so the Publishers Clearing House people could deliver the check to my work address. He said they would go with me to my bank, after we go to WalMart.

I believe this was a scam.

My friend's Facebook had had messaged me that she'd won $100,000 and more from Publishers Clearing House (PCH). The phone # 802-368-1312 was listed for me to call Agent David Lawrence of the PCH and Dept. of Health Human Services to claim my winnings of $100,000. When I called that number, Mr. Lawrence told me that I had to pay $1350 and give him all my personal identity information, in order for me to claim my prize. I told him I didn't have any money and I wouldn't give him my identity information. He told me I should ask people to loan me the $1350, so I could collect my great winnings. I told him no one would loan me that kind of money. He hung up. I messaged my friend on Facebook who had the big winnings and asked if she could loan me the money. She told me she couldn't, but that she hoped I could find it somewhere. I think my friend's Facebook account got hacked and this is all a scam.
