I was approved for a personal loan. I talked to a representative claiming to be from Prosper Loans which is a real loan company. I was sent a link to a legit website to enter all of my personal sensitive information. The site appeared to be encrypted. They did a bank verification. I was asked to return the amount deposited into my bank in one of three ways, online, offline or gift card. I did not do that. Luckily my bank returned the funds and removed the transaction. I was asked for a copy of my ID which loan companies do to verify. I did send an email with copy of my ID along with the loan agreement which was not signed. The loan amount was not transferred to my account. The two men that I spoke with called many times and appeared to be legit. I did some research and found the loan company legit but these people were not. The phone number was based in Burbank, CA but Prosper Loans is based out of San Francisco, CA. The names used were Walter Brooks and Xavier Casarez. (818) 252-9308. (818) 233-0624.
