This has happened many times but I never answer the phone. The voice mail was clearly automated and in 3 different voices and was slow to say each word. I received a voicemail on 4/09/24 at 8:46am telling me I was going to be served a summons on 4/10/2024 between 10am & 2pm. They said I could call them back directly if I would like to update the date or time. The caller didn't say what exactly the summons was for & did not leave their name. They directed me to call "the complainant or filing party" at 833-383-2306 if I want more information. They were using my maiden name & said they would also be sending paperwork directly to the "HR dept of my employer". I was never served a summons & am unaware of any lawsuit or citation against me.

Caller claims I had bloodwork done by alliance diagnostics that wasn’t covered by my provider and multiple notices had been sent. I asked who they were claiming owed this amount and they stated my name. I asked to what address they sent notices, and they stated my address. I told them I had no copy of any such invoice. The woman said we were past that point and she needed a debit or credit card to close account today. I repeated I have no knowledge of such bill. She only offered to send receipt of paid bill to my address or risk credit agency reporting for nonpayment. I hung up

A collection company called me on the phone and said I had a bill from Alliance Diagnostic for labs done back in August of 2022. I instructed him that I had health coverage back then that should have been billed and that I never received any communication from there about an outstanding bill. I told him I wasn't paying anything and to have the company call me. He said he understood and would make a note of it.

They said that they were Representing a Local bank here that was pursuing court for the collection of a check that was written at a local grocery store and bounced. Told me if I went to court it would cost me close to $3000 and they could arrange for a settlement at a lower cost. We spoke for a little while and they said that they got them to take $400. But it was now or never kinda a deal. I told them I didn't have that kinda of money. So they asked if I could use a credit card. I told them I didn't have one that high amount on it. He put me on hold and came back and asked if I could make a deposit on it and he could hold the deal. I gave him $50 from the credit card. He said they needed $250 in April and $100 from me in May. I agreed. but never signed anything saying that I would do this. But I signed and paid $50 and he sent me a copy of a receipt from the Jackson, Avery and Associates heading on the receipt. The check in question was told to me that I made it in July of 1999. And that they have been trying to collect from Collection Agencies since then. I have never heard of this until now. I didn't think anything of it until my wife got a similar call about a check that was written over 20years ago.

They left a cut off voicemail describing that if I didn't want legal problems associated with my social security number and "records" I needed to cal their office back. They did not tell me what the legal problem was or their office name. If I was an elderly or vulnerable person I would have been intimidated. They left the number 888-270-9142 to call them back. I googled it and it appears to be a shady debt collection agency. I don't have outstanding debt as far as I am aware. I believe this was an attempt to get me to call and pay a reduced" fee for outstanding debt under coercion.
