Pro Auto Depot Reports & Reviews (106)

One of the more elaborate scams I’ve seen online. Using a Comcast email address and a very professional looking website with address and local phone number. Man answering the phone had a distinct African accent.

They posted a beautiful Yamaha jet boat on BoatTrader.com at a substantial discount.

Here is the email I received from them:

Hello again and sorry for late reply,

As I have told you in previous email I just divorced.

During divorce I had to move out from my ex husband house and now I am living temporary with my son in town here.

All options on this boat are in working order. There are no structural or electrical problems. The interior is in pristine condition as you may see in the pictures.

No mechanical issues at all. She starts easily and restart easily all the day. There aren't any service indicators or warning lights on.

All professional service records and owner manuals are available.

Clean and clear title in my name

It comes along with a trailer, with new brakes, and also clean title.

I past thru an ugly divorce, the Court awarded me with this boat and free to go anytime and collect it from his house in Detroit. I'm very glad I took it, this was my ex-husband's most precious thing. He cheated on me although we have 3 kids together. Anyway, I don't want to bore you with my life's story...

In these crazy times and travel bans or social distance, I chose to sell it from where it is and I have signed a consignment agreement with Connect Auto Shippers, to pick the boat for me because i will never go back at his house in Detroit,MI They are a consignment service for vehicles and large items mostly.

Now my boat is already located at one of Connect Auto Shippers facilities in Detroit, along with clear title which is already back signed by me and notarized for the transfer to the new owner. This confidence comes from a previous transaction through these guys where everybody went out happy

If you want to purchase this boat,I already have 1000 miles covered, based on their policy: "shipping within 1000 miles is the seller's responsibility"

If you are more than 1000 miles away from the Connect Auto Shippers warehouse, there will be an extra charge of $0.65 for each additional mile.

My boat was pre-inspected before being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly.

I should also mention their Pre Delivery Inspection you get at delivery and their 7-days money back guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you a chance and time to decide on my boat.Cost of having it returned would come out of my pocket

The escrow payment and shipping will be handled by them. Both of us will be protected and I am sure that everything will go smoothly and safely.

An invoice regarding this purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about this transaction, like insurance, bill of sale, escrowed payment info,etc... basically, all the information you need to know about your purchase.

If you are really interested in buying this boat please get back to me with your email address, full name, full shipping address and a phone#. I will forward your details to Connect Auto Shippers and they will they will help you further.

Take a quick look at their website http://www.connect-shippers.com It should give you and idea how they work and how they handle these sales.

P.S. Sorry for such long email, I was trying to make it shorter:) but wanted to tell you all I know,

All pics has been took by Connect Auto Shippers, they providing excellent conditions my boat was at the time of pick up from my ex-husband house.

Found a boat on Craigslist and contacted "owner". They referred me to Auto Sedge Consignor, who they indicated was working to sell their boat for them. After some research, I found various reviews throughout the years. Yes, they have been doing this for years. They have an online chat, but will never call you and when you try to call them, they never answer and it goes to voicemail. Received an invoice (which looked legitimate). Checked out the hull # and that too matched up with the boat. Transferred funds and then they indicated they didn't receive them yet. Couple days went by and I got suspicious. Put a tracer on my wire and subsequently put in a recall for funds. Still awaiting to hear back, but they used Chase bank.

After a lot of digging, I found an old thread in a blog where someone went through this same scenario 2 years ago. They appear to have buried any bad reviews with a ton of good ones. A search into the company shows news articles about them as well as ones by one of the original co-owners. Very elaborate! Even got a couple emails from the "owner" asking what was going on after the transaction and then those stopped. Needless to say, DO NOT wire anything to this company. Go with your gut, I know I should have. I'm a diligent person and I let my excitement of the prospect of getting a boat cloud my better judgement, because of the detail they put into making this appear real.

Found a "too good to be true" deal on a boat on Craigslist. Emailed to inquire further, Dr james Russell emailed back with a link to the auto sedge consignor website that had more pics. Wanted to take a look at it before buying, said it was in a far away state but there was a 7 day money back guarantee. Had to register on their site and enter into contract before even calling. Tried calling numerous times before finally getting someone with a foreign accent and we asked for the warehouse address so a family member nearby could stop by. They wouldnt give it to us. Dr Russell did in an email but it was a fake address. Would only accept bank wires. We were minutes away from doing it too so lucky we didn't. We emailed Dr Russell back to say we are backing out. Never gave them any bank info or anything but now he is sending threatening emails that we are under contract and its already being shipped and so forth.

Boat was listed for sale on Craigslist at a great price. You could only contact the seller by email through Craigslist. They did not respond immediately to requests. When they did below is the email response but I could not get through to speak with someone until I registered. I then found on BBB someone experiencing the same thing using the same name.

Here is his email response and name

Hi,

First of all, I apologize for the late answer but I had a family emergency and just came back in town. Hope I'm not too late and you are still interested.

All options are in working order. There are no structural or electrical problems. The interior is in nice condition. No mechanical issues at all. She starts easily and restart easily all the day. There aren't any service indicators or warning lights on. All service records and owner manuals are available. Clean and clear title, no liens (ready for a quick sale). Please check the link below to see the pictures, selling price, specifications and some more specific information: https://www.autosedge.com/inventory/

The boat can be seen at the local ASC warehouse. I suppose you know ASC, it's Auto Sedge Consignor, the consignment service for vehicles and large items mostly.

I left the boat in their lot because we got a great deal on a different one and as keeping them both is not an option (also have to pay the other soon), have signed a consignment agreement with these guys for its sale.

To personally inspect or pick it up, simply contact ASC and request an appointment. Just provide them my name as seller and they will shortly provide further information.

In case you are not living in the area and want to have it shipped, due to the voucher that I have received for my membership (my past transactions), shipping up to 1000 miles is free of charge for you as a buyer (over, extra fees will apply, $1.15 per mile).

If you opt for this option, you have to go on their website and Register the purchase. The process is very easy and simple, just fill out the requested information on the page and, within maximum 24 hours, an invoice regarding the purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about the transaction, like insurance, shipping process, bill of sale, payment instructions, etc., basically all you need to know about your purchase. That's the essentially online buying process, but I should also mention their Pre Delivery Inspection you get at delivery and their 7 Day Money Back Guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you the chance and time to decide on the boat. The pre-delivery inspection will have an ASC representative on site who should answer your questions, show that everything works and sign the necessary delivery papers. My boat was even pre-inspected before being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly.

That's all for now, but if you have any other questions, I'll be more then happy to assist. To end with, the entire purchase process is described step by step, on their HOW IT WORKS page. I am sure they do a better job explaining things than I do.

Thank you in advance!

Respectfully,

James

We found a tractor online through Craigslist. The tractor is being held at a consignment lot in Redding, CA under Auto Sedge Consignors. We were sent an invoice for the purchase, no tax added, no delivery fee to WA. It started to seem odd. I called the number given and the recording said they are having a high volume of calls and then disconnected. I called another number and the man who answered had a Russian accent, I asked about the tractor and he said all that information has been sent to the shipping office and he was unable to answer any questions.

The (supposed) owner is a Dr. James Russell. Email: [email protected].

Yes price includes VAT. As I've told you in my previous email I'm not available this week. I get back home next week on Monday. If you want I can have it delivered at your address or you can come and collect it when I'm back. If you want to buy it payment has to be made now through ebay/paypal, funds will go in to a holding account. You release the funds to me only after you inspect and agree to buy the tractor, otherwise if it's not sold through ebay when I get back home next week you can come to view it and pay for it.
I attached a copy of the V5 so you can see I'm a serious seller and don't want to waste your time or mine.

Had a similar experience with a so called seller "Cindy" who claimed to have a 2006 Fleetwood Tioga 29V on sale. I found the posting on Craigslist and after sending her a few emails she answered that she wants to use some kind of consignment service (not real) from ebay motors services:

here is what she wrote:

From: Cindy T. Stuart

Hello!
I am the owner of the 2006 Fleetwood Tioga 29V. I had it advertised nationwide through Facebook Marketlace. It is still available for sale. It is in great shape. it has no damage, no scratches, dents or hidden defects. It is in immaculate condition, meticulously maintained. It has 79,000 and clean title. It has 6.8L V10 engine, gasoline fuel and automatic transmission. Privacy Curtain, Fantastic Power Roof Vent & Sliding Side Windows, Cabover Bunk Ladder, Driver/Front Passenger Flexsteel® Adjustable/Reclining Suede Bucket Seats W/Armrest, Driver/Front Passenger Airbag Supplemental Restraint System, Custom Dash Appliques. Everything works great, it was recently professionally detailed interior and exterior. I am selling it at this final price of $2,500 because my husband passed away last month and it brings me a lot of bad memories and that’s the reason I want to sell it asap... I also got a new job and moved to Augusta, ME and many other things have priority now so it has to go. I attached you some photos. I want to use eBay Services for both our safety, so if you're interested in purchasing this vehicle just email me your full name, address including the zip code and phone number. I will inform eBay that you are selected as my possible buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.
I look forward to your answer.
Thank you

Do not fall victim to any consignment or ebay services...usually the persons who try to steal your money are from West Africa so be aware. Hope this will help others because I lost money because I was not informed.

Hi, I just came back in town, had a family emergency. Hope I'm not too late and you are still interested.
All the appliances are in working condition. Was never smoked in, very clean, lots of storage space inside and out. Clean interior, has no unpleasant odors of any kind (i.e.: pet, smoke, musty, etc.). Main floor doesn't show scuffs and blemishes. Carpet are in very good shape. There are no roof leaks of any kind. It is a clean camper, was well taken care of with no issue at all. All the service records and manuals are available. It has a clean and clear title, it's ready for a quick sale. Please check the link below to see the pictures, specifications/description, a summary inspection report, etc.: https://www.prestigeautodepot.com/inventory/560211/
The trailer can be seen at the local PAD warehouse (I suppose you know Prestige Auto Depot). I left it in their lot because I got a great deal on a different one (keeping them both is not an option, have to pay the other soon), and also due to the COVID-19 pandemic I prefer to avoid personal meeting, therefore I have signed a consignment agreement with these guys for its sale. To personally inspect/pick up and pay by cash, all you have to do is to contact PAD and schedule an appointment. All their contact info are available on the website (phone numbers, live chat, office locations, etc.), to the contact us section. Just provide them my name as seller when contacting them and they will provide further assistance.
In case you want to have it shipped, due to my membership with PAD and also because I'm buying the new trailer through them, I've received a gift voucher and shipping up to 500 miles is free of charge (over, extra fees will apply, $1.15 per mile). If this option suits to your needs, then all you have to do, is to go on the website to buyer registration page and request the purchase. Just fill out the requested information on that page and, within maximum 24 hours, an invoice regarding the purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about the transaction, like insurance, shipping process, bill of sale, payment instructions, etc., basically all you need to know about your purchase. That's the essentially online buying process, but I should also mention their pre-delivery inspection you get at delivery and their 7 day money back guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you the chance and time to decide on the trailer, even before I get paid for it. The pre-delivery inspection will have a PAD representative on site who should answer your questions, show you everything works. The trailer was even pre-inspected before being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly.
To end with, the entire purchase process (payment options, shipping, guarantees, return policy, etc.) is described on the website, on the how it works page. Just read this page to better understand the process, I'm sure they do a better job explaining things than I do.
That's all for now, but if you have questions, I'll be more than happy to assist.

Sharon

Hi,
Last price that I would take for a quick deal is $20200. Can't go under as I'm already selling under the market and all the fees associated with the sale are my responsibility too.
The trailer is placed into PAD storage facility from Syracuse, NY.
Not quite sure where you have seen the trailer because my son and I took the liberty to advertise in many areas, knowing that we have 500 miles covered. If you live more than 500 miles away, extra shipping fees will apply ($1.15/mile).
As I've formerly remarked, to pick up/inspect, you must contact the company and ask for guidance.
All their contact phone numbers are on the website, to the Contact section.
You can also request to inspect the trailer through the Schedule Inspection Appointment application, from the Contact Us page, or simply go on live chat and request further assistance.
Like I've told you before, you will be automatically enrolled in the 7 day money back guarantee program. You can read more about this return policy on the website (7 Day Money Back Guarantee page). More exactly, if the trailer won't be as I've described or as it can be seen in the pictures, PAD will take it back and automatically refund your money, and the cost of having it returned would come out of my pocket, of course.
If you still have concerns or questions regarding the transaction, both options are described on the How It Works page. Check also their FAQ page as there common questions are already answered. It's better to have everything clear before having a transaction started. I am sure that everything will go smoothly and safely because PAD is are a reliable company, a five 5 star company and that because their services are strict, safe and trustful, at the same time. A simple research on the Internet can give a great overview about their services: https://www.google.com/search?ei=elYHX-aKEczItQap7a-QAw&q=Prestige+Auto+Depot+ww... /> To end with, you choose which option suits to your needs, for me both are safe and secure. There are a few more people interested for the trailer and, of course, it will be sold to the first who will will pick it up at the warehouse location or, if opting for shipping, to the first that will register the transaction and pay for it online.
Thank you!

Same Here. Looking for a Bobcat mini excavator and found two on Craigslist nation wide search. One in Oklahoma and one in Texas. After several attempts to contact both, I received this email on the 2006 unit in Oklahoma. When I went to the site and clicked on the link, the 2005 unit from Texas popped up. Also went back one link to just inventory and there was nothing. Did a search in both cities and nothing. Went to just the home page and still no inventory. Started a search for PAD Scams and here we are. So Thank You for this forum, just saved me about $12,000.00.

Here is a copy of my letter.

Hi, I just came back in town, had a family emergency. Hope I'm not too late and you are still interested.
The machine starts and runs like it should, without any issues. It has been checked out from one end to the other. Engine runs excellent, starts, runs well throughout all functions and does not smoke. All the controls are in working order and there aren't any service indicators or warning lights on. Has no mechanical issues or leaks, only normal wear and tear of a used machine. It has been always barn kept. All service records and manuals are available. This is a clean machine, no liens, debts, it's ready for a quick sale. Please check the link below to see the pictures, specifications/description, a summary inspection report, etc.: https://www.prestigeautodepot.com/inventory/904120/
The machine can be seen at the local PAD warehouse (I suppose you know Prestige Auto Depot).
In case you want to have it shipped, due to my membership with PAD and also because I'm buying the new machine through them, I've received a gift voucher and shipping up to 500 miles is free of charge (over, extra fees will apply, $1.15 per mile). That's the essentially online buying process, but I should also mention their pre-delivery inspection you get at delivery and their 7 day money back guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you the chance and time to decide on the machine, even before I get paid for it. The pre-delivery inspection will have a PAD representative on site who should answer your questions, show you everything works. The machine was even pre-inspected before being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly.

--
Respectfully,
James

craiglist add for trailer at steep discount. Seller asked for my email and phone and then contacted me directly. email is from a legit business address (hacked?)

Trailer location is very far away and seller has consigned trailer to Prestige Auto Depot. the website looks legit and i filled out the application, she contacted me immediately telling me she was notified. But the messaging on Prestige is a computer generated message and i know its a very sophisticated hack. Price is ridiculously low also.

It appears that the hatchgroup.org goes directly to hatch.com to make it look like this woman is an employee with a large group.

This is a scam and you need to take down Prestige Auto and Hatchgroup.org website ASAP

Similar experience with www.ebiz-protepot.com
Same scheme, same texts.

I found this article useful, read this before you deal on craiglist:

Auto Dealer Loan Kickbacks

Unscrupulous car dealerships can’t wait to pick your pocket

One of the auto industry’s dirty little tricks is the practice of lenders giving kickbacks to dealers for charging high interest rates for the car loans. A good example of this would be when a buyer has been qualified for an 8% loan rate, the dealer can, and will in most cases, attempt to charge a higher rate.

Many dealers will tell you they have a 12% rate available (a lot of consumers do not know better) and will jump at the deal just to get credit and drive away in a new or used car. Your $20,000.00 automobile over a 60 month period would have had a $433.56 payment at an 8% rate but now because you signed your loan agreement for a 12% rate you payment will be $475.64. Guess who get the extra $42.09 per month? You guessed right, the dealer who suckered you into the additional rate of interest.

Image of used car salesman

To get the best possible deal on a new or used car or truck, knowledge and information is your best bet. Knowledge is always power in these cases. Dealer scams such as the increased interest rate, packed payments and other common little tricks can quickly remove any savings that you thought you were receiving. Learn how to calculate you own monthly payments, use the internet to your advantage and learn how to negotiate with dealers.
Packed or loaded payments

This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. When a dealer “loads” your payment you are literally being ripped off. Here’s how it works: You ask how much the monthly payment will be on a certain automobile and the salesperson will quote you either a slighly higher APR or loan amount. It might not be much but if the actual loan payment should be $325 a month and their mathematical shenanigans push it up to $365.00 that could end up costing you an additional $2300 on a typical 60 month car loan. It doesn’t seem like a small amount anymore does it? It’s a very difficult scam to detect unless you go into the dealership with your homework completed. Before you go into a dealership, gather all of the pricing information on the cars you’re interested in so you know what the payments should be. An informed consumer is a lot harder to fool than an uninformed car buyer. This is no guarantee you won’t be ripped off but your odds will be a lot better.

On the other hand, if you agree to this packed loan payment without comment the dealer will attempt to boost the final price again and again and again. If you’re not prepared for what can happen at each step of the car buying process a salesperson will use every trick in the book to separatate you from your money. As you work your way towards a final deal you’ll be offered high price items like extened warranties, undercoating and clear coat paint layers. If you’re not careful you’ll end up paying extra for items added to the car at the factory!
Auto Dealership Lease Scams

Sometimes car dealerships make more money leasing cars than selling them. Pushing cars out the door isn’t always enough. Margins are tight and profits are slim so some dealerships do their best to herd car buyers towards a leasing option. One way car dealers trick people into leasing is by quoting new cars at prices so highly inflated that the leasing option appears to be a better deal. The money you save if you fall for this is only an illusion. In reality you’ll pay far more to lease a vehicle than purchase it. Here’s another example that shows how doing your homework beforehand can save you a ton of cash at a car dealership. We can’t say enough about doing your due diligence and research all of the competitive rates on car loans, leases and prices of vehicles before you set foot on a dealer’s lot.
Top Frauds and Scams

Read more about car leasing scams
Car Dealership Extended Warranty Scams

One of the huge moneymakers of all time for car dealers is the ability to sell extended warranties. Most consumers have no idea how much profit there is on specific add on deal that the dealers try to sell them. Extended warranties are available though factory sources or from totally worthless sources and outlandish prices. All of these tactics are aimed at one thing only, “higher profits” for the dealers.
Auto Dealer Prep Fees

This is an old trick of the trade. It allows the dealer to pick up a quick profit anywhere from $500.00 to $1200.00 in a hurry. Some manufacturers had already paid the dealers for new car prep work. Hmmmmm, most people do not know this and are duped into paying it again. This is pure rip-off profit for the car dealer, do not fall for this scam. Knowledge is power in this case.

Read more about prep fee scams
Do your Research before you purchase a car from a dealership

If you rely on the internet too much you may be missing the boat. You will need to do a bit more research than what the World Wide Web has to offer. If you think that all you need to be armed with is the dealer invoice amount that you so diligently down loaded from the internet to get the best price can be sorely mistaken. This is not the same as dealer cost. Another common error is, not knowing the actual prices that other in your area are paying for the same vehicle. If you think that a dealer who belongs to an internet buying service will be giving you the best price in town then think again. Make your research pay for itself. Make sure you visit as many dealers as you can to discuss prices of the same vehicle and make double sure they are the same in engine size and all add on accessories.

It is also a good idea to already have your most recent credit report with you and also make sure you have learned to calculate both loan payment amounts and lease payment amounts.

Another good idea would be to check with other lenders on their rates or even pre-qualify yourself for the best loan you can find before you start visiting you local dealers.
Check on a car’s history before you buy

If you’re buying a new or used car, AutoCheck® or another tracing service can give you a detailed history of the car and alert you to serious problems, such as rolled-back odometers or a salvage title that indicates the vehicle’s been in a serious wreck or damaged by water. You’ll need the car’s vehicle identification number, or VIN, usually found on the left side of the dash or the driver’s side door post. Fpr a small fee you can get a CarFax Report on an unlimited number of vehicles. If you’re out shopping for a new car, this allows you to check on the history of every one you’re interested in. Most car dealers are honest but if you are unlucky enough to find yourself on a crooks lot you could end up driving a lemon home. A quick check on a car’s history before you finalize the purchase can end up saving you a lot of heartache and money.
How to avoid car dealer scams

Don’t visit a car dealership intending to purchase a new or used car until you read our tips on how to avoid car dealer scams. You’ll know what to expect from the sales staff and could end up with a better deal.

Get pre-approved for a car loan before you step on the lot. This can save you a bundle. Odds are you’ll get a better interest rate and having your own financing reduces your chances of getting scammed by a car salesman. If you can’t get a loan, you’ll already know it. If you can get a loan, you’ll know how much you can borrow and this will tell you how much car you can or can’t afford.
Do some research before going to the dealership. Do some research on the web or find another way to gather information about cars you’re interested in. Don’t go to a car dealership with the vague idea of wanting a new car. Choose some makes and models you’re interested in and find out as much as you can about them including:
Total Cost of Ownership – Maintenance, gas mileage, taxes, value depreciation etc. You don’t want to buy a car you can afford to drive off the lot but can’t afford to maintain.
Pricing – If there are a lot of dealerships for you to choose from, find the one with the best deal. This seems obvious enough but many people don’t think about driving 15 minutes across town to save $300. You should also find out the sticker price. This will tell you just how low the salesman is willing to go. If you know that, make an offer, and refuse to budge, chances are the salesman will find a way to make it happen. Their job is to sell cars.
Extras and Options – Know which additional features are offered and which ones you’re interested before you go to the dealership. Don’t let them convince you into adding more than you want or need. Some of them may sound nice to have but they’re not free and can cost you a bundle.
Don’t negotiate based on monthly payments. One of the first questions a car salesman will ask you is, “How much can you afford to pay each month?” This sly question, if you answer it, will determine how much the car ends up costing you. If a car would have cost $300 a month but you let them know you can afford as much as $350, you can bet they’ll find a way to arrange things so that it ends up costing you $350 a month. This is one reason why it’s so important to enter into negotiations with your car loan pre-approved.
Don’t allow your trade-in to influence your new car’s cost. This is one of the many ways car salespeople will try to fool you. If you let them talk about your trade-in in relation to the cost of your new car, they’ll come up with some confusing combination of numbers that will end up costing you more money. An example is giving you a lot more for your trade-in than you’d expected but adding this to the final cost of the car to “get the manager to sign off on the deal.” You end up paying more interest which could end up, over time, eating away the value of your trade-in!
Be willing to walk away. Remember, you’re in the driver’s seat. If you don’t think you’re getting a fair deal or something seems out of whack or you feel you need time to think things over, just get up and go. You don’t have to be impolite, but don’t get pushed or bullied into a bad deal. You might be told that the offer only lasts so long, then so be it. There will be other cars and other offers. Some of them a whole lot better. Cars are expensive and you could end up driving it for yours so take your time and don’t let your emotions get the better of you.

Car Scams

Auto dealerships scams, insurance fraud, car repair ripoffs, salvaged vehicles, towing scams, odometer rollback, curbstoning and car title loans are fleecing consumers that just want an honest deal when purchasing or caring for their cars.

While most car dealerships are honest there are more than a few that will try and trick you into paying more for your car than it’s worth or into financing your auto loan at a higher interest rate than you could. Some of these tread the line between trickery and outright fraud.

A new car is one of the most expensive and important purchases a consumer can make and they are expensive enough without dishonest auto dealers making you pay even more.

These pages detail some of the the most common car dealership scams such as “Yo Yo Financing” (AKA Spot Delivery) or the ever-popular Prep Fee Scam. We also have advice and tips our advice on how to avoid these scams. We also take a hard look at some of the auto insurance scams and the practices of the auto insurance companies. You will be shocked to find out some of the methods insurers have developed to scam consumers.
A New Car Scam Every Day

Or at least it seems that way sometimes. Every time they add a new feature to cars, a scam appears to take advantage of it. Airbags are a great example. I can’t wait to see what the scammers dream up for in-dash GPS systems! We’ll deal with that when the day comes. There are plenty of ripoffs to talk about in the present. For example, we have car repair and towing scams to worry about.

We all accept that getting our cars repaired is going to be costly, but who wants insult added to injury by getting scammed in the process? I don’t and I bet you don’t either. That’s why knowing the tricks scammers use is so important. The list of car scams is a big one and growing larger every day. Cars and the services necessary to operate them are expensive and wherever money is involved you will find a con artist waiting to take your money.
Knowledge is Power

Some think driving a car is risky, but you’ll soon discover that purchasing, repairing and insuring your vehicle can be equally dangerous. Cars are expensive to purchase, care for or insure and shysters have come up with many ways to divert your auto budget to their wallets. It’s what they do and they’re really good at it. Even so, all is not lost. If you learn some of the tricks used by con atists your chances of being tricked in the dealer showroom, insurance agent’s office or at the repair shop are reduced considerably.

I saw an offer for a car on letgo.com and replied to it. The seller did not want to go through letgo and asked to be contacted via email: [email protected].

Before doing business with these guys, go to their facebook page and click on a link to look at one of their cars. It links to a real car dealership on the West coast with a similar name. If you want that car, you better call them direct because ShiftAutoBrokers does not exist, except as a scam bank account where you can send your money.

Just finished purchasing my first automobile from these guys (I'm a 21 y/o college student); I never thought buying a car would be so easy.

The whole process was quick and painless compared to what I'd imagine I would've endured at a dealership. I applied for financing on one vehicle I initially requested to test drive, and even when I decided TWICE to change what car I wanted to test drive, I didn't have to repeat the financing process again or go through any extra headaches (although the cars were all in a similar price range). Not to mention the fact they'll bring the vehicle to your house for the test drive, with the exception being electric cars. Oh, did I mention they also handle all everything with the DMV as well?

Kelvin Chen was my representative, he arrived right on time for the test drive and just let me hop straight in the driver's seat. We obviously had to spend a good chunk of time doing some paperwork afterwards, but I never felt like he was pressuring me to buy the car or sign anything unless I truly wanted the vehicle. Signing a bunch of documents is never fun but Kelvin made the whole process as quick as he could and also quite painless. He was professional and extremely patient with me as I gathered all the forms I needed for the purchase.

TLDR (Buyer's Perspective); Quick and easy process to schedule a test drive and I had the keys to my new car in a matter of 2 hours or so from Kelvin's arrival.

Notice how the rear license plate says SHIFT. That is the logo of a car dealership on the West Coast. A real dealership. Again, a real dealership, not a fake web site designed to get you to send your money to places unknown.

SCAM ALERT I agreed to buy a car, Shift Auto Brokers was to broker the deal. I paid for the car via a wire to their bank, and Shift was to ship the car to my address. But the car never arrived. It was to be delivered on a Thursday, then mysteriously delayed 24 hours to late Friday. By the time banks opened on Monday, it was too late to reverse the wire. Since the delivery date, Shift Auto Brokers doesn't answer the phone and they don’t respond to emails. There is no way to contact them. They have no physical presence at their address. Their phone number is a VOIP, so I am likely calling someone in a different country even though it looks like a Michigan number. They are not rated by the BBB and the BBB was unable to locate them. They have no business licenses. Based on my experience and research, I have concluded this company is a clever online wire fraud Scam.

The service they offered is sooooo awesome. I bought a used Mercedes-Benz GLC300 from them, Daniel (Sales) and Harry (Finance) are so helpful and made my whole buying experience great.
I hate buying cars because of the price negotiation game plus back and forth of bank/dealer. However, Daniel and Harry not only gave me a great price, but also let me finance with my own bank and drive away that car at the same day ( just with some paperworks which is about 1 hour or so). I wasn't expect driving away the car without paying a penny at that day. I thought I will get the paperwork done and then go to my bank to get the check, so I can give them money and they give me the car in a week or something like that. No, Daniel and Harry were so fantastic, they said, why not drive away the car today. WHAT? yes, Harry said, and he said I have a good credit, so I will get the money from my bank anyway, why does he need to worry. Just take the car today and give back the check to him next day.
(plus they didn't run my credit, but did a soft pull with my driver licence which I appreciate so much, I had other dealer insist to do a hard pull of my credit even though I don't finance through them)

I wasn't expect my car buying process will be so smooth, but Daniel and Harry made it like buying a ice cream from a store. I was smiling the whole time, plus they both are very entertaining which made the process even better. If I am going to buy another car, I will definitely go check with SHIFT Auto Brokers first. Thanks Daniel and Harry!

There is no Daniel or Harry. There is nobody. Go to their address, it is a vacant office building. Go there and call Daniel or Harry and ask for directions, they will hang up on you.

I didn't end up buying the car I was looking at here due to it simply not being what I ended up wanting out of a car, but I had nothing but a positive experience coming in and test driving with Von, the rep that helped me out. They were very communicative with me from my first inquiry and were very welcoming when I came in. I appreciate Von giving me a no-hassle test drive - he let me have fun with the car to see if I could really enjoy it within its limits without giving me a hard time or trying to pressure me into a sale. All in all I would definitely feel comfortable purchasing with these folk, they seem like an honest bunch who know what they're doing - the s2000 I tested was a steal, but unfortunately just not what I'm looking for at the moment. Hope someone cops it!

Go ahead, try to go to the address to test drive a car. You will never find them. Google the address, they aren't there. Call someone in the building and ask about ShiftAutoBrokers, they won't have clue what you are talking about. These people don't exist except as an online presence, probably operating out of a foreign country. Send them your money, see what you get in return.

They took my money and never delivered the car as promised. It appears to be an online wire fraud scam. My research indicate they are or have done business as Sportexotics.com, Shift Auto Brokers, Pro Motors Depot, SE Motors group, SE Motors Brokers. Probably more. I think it is a SCAM

Great buying experience, maybe the best I ever had. To start off I would say this is the most welcoming and easy going dealership I have ever been to and I bought dozens of cars in the past!
Andrew was my salesman and Melissa was in finance and running the whole place were just AMAZING!
I don't have a perfect credit at the moment and Peter got me approved without any problem for a 16 E class.
Andrew made the atmosphere at the dealership felling like home.
Thank you guys and you have a customer for life!

his is the second time I have bought a car here. First one was a Bmw 750li very good car.
I use my cars for work so it is important to have a reliable car. I came back last week and bought another car, the 2nd one, this time a Mercedes-Benz GL 450. The whole team there is great from owner Mr Kosower to Andrew and Michael were all great. They helped me with the car and all the paper processing and the work and took my old car back from me with credit towards my purchase.
Even though it was a commercial vehicle they were really helpful to me. Thank you guys for all the help, will be back to purchase car for wifey She wants her 2nd Bmw!

Based on my experience and research, I have to conclude this entire company is a clever online Scam.

I have been trying to find my dream Mercedes for a few months now, even went as far as going back home to Dallas to try and find one but had no luck. I originally found a car I really liked on FB from SHIFT Auto Brokers and I called right away. I scheduled an appointment for the next day (which was yesterday) and everyone was so nice and willing to help me. Peter, Andrew, and Michael made this process so easy for me. They got me into an E400 coupe which I didn't even think was possible to get into but they made it happen. After a few hours of being there, I signed my paperwork. I can't thank these guys enough for making this happen. I will forever be a customer of theirs and will go nowhere else for any future cars. THANK YOU AGAIN for everything guys!

I was hosted by Daniel and Andrew two weeks ago when I try to purchase a used Macan. Both are very nice and professional. Daniel is really nice and he is a life saver. He helped me get the payment done in Sunday when the banks are all closed. And I was able to drive the car back home the same day. Andrew get me a unbeatable price that I don't think u can find anywhere. He clearly knows what he is doing and he was very approachable.

I was looking for a used Range Rover and ended up buying a gorgeous Maserati with only 19,000 miles on it. I absolutely LOVE MY NEW CAR and had one of the best car buying experiences I've had in a very long time. In fact this is the first time in 20 years I've been excited about a car. I took the Maz out of town for the weekend last weekend and drove it to the bay area, was a fun trip, and the new car made it even better.
If you want a great deal go see Daniel at SHIFT Auto Brokers, they will take excellent care of you same as they did me. Tell them you saw my review and you want the same deal I got because I swear every time I get in this car I feel like a car thief. Without telling you exactly how much I paid let's just say I paid less than I would for a brand new Honda Accord, and got a great loan too! THANK YOU Daniel and everyone, I WILL refer you more clients!
Happy Maserati Owner

Michael was professional, honest & great to work with! I had looked at several Mercedes GLE before finding the best value and no haggling from Michael. He is very responsive and just wants to help you find the right car for you. He didn't try to convince me of any other options but willingly showed me any car on his lot(s) ..he has more vehicles than fit on the lot so be sure you go in and talk to him.
I will recommend SHIFT Auto Brokers Cars to all my friends. He continues to take car of your needs after the sale. I wanted a second set of keys and he's now helping get them at cost for me even though its been months since I purchased from him.
Thank you Michael!

HANDS DOWN the BEST dealer I've ever purchased a car from!
After nearly a week of trying to get an approval and going back and forth with another dealer to get into a Maserati Ghibli I said enough is enough!
I called Iman and Harry at SHIFT Auto Brokers and said
"Iman I need your help badly, I need a Maserati and another dealer is putting me through HELL"
He said "I'm here waiting for you"
I got in my car, drive to SHIFT Auto Brokers, no joke within thirty minutes I test drove the car got an approval signed my paperwork and I was out the door with a Maserati Ghibli.
Straight to the point no BS.

If you're tired of getting robbed and givin' the run around, seriously go ask for Iman. I would not steer you in the wrong direction.

By the way, my credit is far from perfect.
Yet still, I told Iman this is what I'm comfortable with paying and that's what he made happen for me.

Thank you again

I recently bought a Range Rover hse here. I have to say my experience here was a breeze. Let me start out by thanking Iman who did a great job. I decided to work with my credit union for financing but he worked directly with them and provided them with all the information they needed almost instantly. I want to say that he took great care of me. He even followed up with me after a few days of buying the car just to make sure I was happy with my purchase and if I had any questions about the car. They handle alot of upscale vehicles like Land Rovers, Mercedes, Maserati, Bmws, and I even saw a Rolls Royce there. They know their cars and know how to cater to their guests. I will be recommending them to my freinds and family for future purchases. Ask for Michael!

I found precisely the used vehicle that I desired to buy at the lowest price possible. The owner said she was soon to deploy overseas and did not want to pay storage fees for her SUV. She had ten days to sell and would arrange shipment through military transport. If I was interested she would contact middleman Vehicle Protection Program who would arrange escrow payment terms to protect buyer and seller. I was contacted by email with purchase instructions that involved Bitcoin purchase in the amount of vehicle cost of funds. Funds would be transferred once vehicle was in shipment stage. I had problems with the Bitcoin machine and was instructed to buy eBay Gift cards, scratch off code and send photo-copy of receipt and cards by email. There is where I lost my $*** dollars since both the ID # of the cards and the scratch-off code number were on the photocopy that I sent. My next email from Ebay Motors stated that an unknown Tax and added Insurance fee for Oregon car sales to out-of-state destinations had to be paid by car owner and that my $2000 would be delivered to my home where the auto was to be shipped. No cashiers check arrived within 72 hours as stated and the middle-man, as well as sellar, quit answering my attempts to call or email. Both FBI and FTC did not respond to my filing of a complaint. My Senate (Richard Roth) Field Representative (Altie Holcomb) could only offer phone numbers to Consumer Affairs. That office gave phone numbers to Better Business Burael, the Attorney General, and a Legal Service that would assist in the filing of a Small Claims case in Municipal Court.

Following is the nature of the e-mail:

I really appreciate your interest in purchasing the jeep and I would like to clarify some things 1st of all. I wold like to speak on the phone with you is much easy for me but i have a surgery at mouth and i can't speak for few week. The thing is I'm selling this jeep because my husband passed away not long ago (he was very sick) and and this jeep too much for me and that's the reason why I want to sell it asap I have lot to do...I along with my daughter decided to sell the house and we moved to my parents in Topeka, KS trying to start a new life. The jeep is already at the shipping company ready for delivery. The jeep is there already because someone agreed to buy it, but in the end he never got the loan. For this reason, the shipping is already paid. I will use eBay in this transaction for our protection. If you are not aware of this program, you should know that they will secure your funds and they will allow you to test drive and inspect the jeep before any funds are released to me. The inspection period will be set to 5 days and I think is enough for you to make a decision about the jeep. If you won`t like my car for some reason, you notify eBay and you send the jeep back on my expense. But I assure you it won't be the case. If you want to continue the purchase, please reply with your full name for bill of sale, delivery address for shipping and phone number so I can start the transaction with eBay and ask them to send you the terms of this transaction ( with no further obligation or fees).

Waiting for your reply. Tracey Cuming [email protected]

We contacted the seller to buy a 2006 Dodge Ram for $2000. He claimed that he was being deployed to Iraq and needed to sell quickly, the reason for the low price. He said we would complete the transaction through eBay's vehicle purchase protection program and the vehicle would be shipped free through DAS. I received an email through eBay instructing us to purchase prepaid Vanilla Visa cards and to put $500 on each four cards. Then we were to email the numbers and security codes of cards along with pics of the receipts. Once received the vehicle would be shipped to us. I researched to see if this was a scam and it appears to be one. I tried to find this transaction in my eBay account and it does not exist.

The scammers used the likeness of ebay , issued a confirmation number and invoice for the product I was purchasing to scam me out of $2200 for the purchase of a vehicle that would be delivered within 5 days. The scammer had a "customer service number" that I could call to find out the status of my purchase . The number still works and a person still answers the number and acknowledges you by the your confirmation number. When I ask for the status of my purchase they hang up. They sent me an email and invoice all using eBay's likeness and image so it was very hard to detect until the car didn't show up. I used gift cards as a form of payment and ebay is looking into the scam because they should have the ability to find the gift card numbers and how they were used.

My name is *** *** and I want to thank you for taking an interest in my 2005 Honda CR-V at the price of 1500$. Let me give you a few details about it: it's in very good condition with 103,000 miles, it doesn't have any mechanical issues, the engine is a 2,4L 4Cyl, it has automatic transmission, All-Wheel Drive ,no scratches or dents, easy on maintenance costs, extremely reliable. The interior of this car is something I always took care of, the seats/carpet are not stained and we never smoked inside it. The car was never involved in any accident and I have a clear title for it free of any liens or loans. The reason I decided to sell it is because my husband had a heart attack and died two weeks ago and it brings me back memories.

I want to make this deal though eBay since the car is already in their custody in Omaha,NE and I used it before with no problems so if you're interested in purchasing it please reply with your : full name, full address and phone number. After that I will notify them I found a buyer and they will contact you with the rest of the procedure.

Thank you and I look forward for to hearing from you.

Then I sent my name, phone and address and

And then I got this email from "eBay" ([email protected]) supposedly, with the document I attached below:

I was told to buy an eBay gift card and send it in and that eBay wouldn’t make the transaction until I received the vehicle. It was supposed to be delivered to me. I would then have 5 days to test out the vehicle and let eBay know if I was happy with it or not and if I was satisfied and wanted to purchase it then eBay would pay the seller. We received an email with the information, all looking legit, purchased the cards and called the number with the redemption codes and found out it was ALL fraud and a scam. Tried calling ebay to stop the transactions and get our money back but that didn't work even though, in order to use the cards they have to have an account, so the transaction should be trackable.

I feel really stupid. I should have called ebay security priorto sending any money. If a deal sounds too good to be true,IT IS!

Advertised an old car for sale on a website; but the item was to be sold and shipped through "ebay motors" That's the part that looked legit. We pay ebaymotors with ebay cards and they would hold the money til the client sent the car and would release the money to the client once we saw it and agreed to the purchase. We sent the money. Then they wanted more for "insurance." That's when we called ebay and found that the webpage "from ebay" that included the purchase form and invoice was bogus!

There was an RV listed in Montgomery County Illinois trading post. It was an add for an Airstream Land Yacht. Supposidly located in Dupo, Illinois. The invoice required me to purchase ebay cards from Dollar General at $200 a piece. Scratch off the codes on the back and give codes to ebay@invoice-online-support. Our vehicle would be delivered 3 days from the date they received the scratch off 13 digit numbers.

Hello again, as I told you in my first e-mail, I’m in the army and right now I am located at a military base in Virginia. The car is here with me.

We are training hard and getting ready for deployment.

Before leaving, I prearranged a deal with eBay Motors, so my presence isn't necessary. The delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. You will have 5 days to test and inspect the vehicle prior to making any purchase. During the 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money.

I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details regarding this deal.

If you are interested, please reply with your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling. I will send your info to eBay and they will contact you and send you everything there is to know about how to close the transaction in the best terms possible for the both of us.

You will find photos of the Ford in the attachment.

These pictures are 100% accurate and they represent exactly what you see.

I emailed a lady name Lisa Adams January 18, 2019 on Craigslist about a 2003 Toyota Corolla. Her response was she will add the transaction on Ebay so we both can be protected. Lisa stated she was about to leave with her military team soon. I talked to a man from ebay, he told me to purchase a ebay card. I called him gave him the number from the gift card. I was promised the car in two days. Ebay stop answering my phone number so my boyfriend and my daughter talked to him.

Please help me with my $500, the car was for my college daughter.

There was an advertisement listed on craglist.com to purchase a John Deere Tractor. The only way of contact was thru e-mail the sellers. The seller refer the transaction to an ebay account. In return ebay emailed back asking for payment thru ebay gift cards. Things got suspicous when ebay asked for payment a second time for insurance for shipping. The gift cards were purchased and then phoned to the number that was listed in the email. I was not aware that it was a scam at the time. But after I refused to pay for the insurance and called the number several times with no responses, it was then when I got the message it was a scam. I looked up Ebay website and got another number and sure enought Ebay confirmed that I was scammed. The real Ebay did not have the order in their system and could not refund me any money. I was told to refer this to the local police department.

Saw an ad for a truck in NH Craigslist. I contacted the seller by email and was told she is using EBay. Proceeded to purchase vehicle thru them. First they wanted 1,800 in eBay cards . Called them back(sounded legit) they said they would email us back when the truck will be shipped. Here’s where it gets tricky, they stated they needed another thousand to insure the vehicle in eBay cards and the money would be given back in check upon delivery. So I called them back with another thousand in eBay cards. Once again sounded legit. Then another email from them asking for another thousand. Told them I’m canceling the order and calling the authorities. Never heard back from them again. So I’ve been scammed

Consumer was on Offer UP looking for a car. She found a 2006 NIssan for sale and clicked on it. A woman asked for your email address so that she could send pictures of the car and further information, which was received. The woman who contacted the consumer was Sandra Kenneh, email address [email protected]. She told the consumer that she had EBay Renter's Insurance that would allow her to ship the car from Virginia to the consumer in Ohio to test drive for 5 or 6 days at a cost of $1,000. The consumer was emailed all details and was told that EBay Motors would keep the consumer's $1,000 in escrow until the consumer was able to test drive the car and determine if she wanted to purchase it. If the consumer wanted to purchase the car she would let EBay Motors know and they would send the money to Sandra Kenneh. If the consumer did not want the car the money would be sent back to the consumer. The consumer then received an invoice via email from [email protected]. The email then instructed the consumer to purchase EBay gift cards, telling her that the maximum amount that could be loaded on an EBay gift card was $500. She was then told to send the gift cards to EBay Motors, but provided no address to send them to EBay Motors. The invoice does not list any information or address for EBay Motors. It only lists Sandra Kenneh's address - Sandra Kenneh, 8725 John J. Kingman Rd., #235, Fort Belboir, VA 22060. The consumer was told that once she purchased the gift cards she should email the numbers on the gift cards to EBay Motors.

Found listing on Craigslist for Golf Cart listing ID 6570731881

Contact Seller at email address: [email protected]

She informed me it was still available

I replied with questions about payment, etc.

She explained that she was selling it through eBay Motors

We would have 5 days for inspection with full refund available

We agreed to move forward

Friday May 25th

Received email from [email protected] and [email protected] claiming to be eBay

They provided order ID 7935243127

And attached an invoice with instructions for payment to be EBAY gift cards

After work, I went to Walgreens and purchased $500 EBAY gift card using my debit card

They would only allow $500 max at that location

I then went to Publix supermarkets and purchased $700 in additional EBAY Gift Cards using my credit card

I called the number provided (858) 386-4962 in the invoice and email and provided the Gift Card numbers as instructed

The email instructions and the person on the phone stated that it would take up to 24 hours for payment to go through

Received confirmation from eBay and seller

Called the (858) 386-4962 eBay contact number several times. Often would receive message that "Call cannot be completed as dialed"

Sent follow-up emails to both Liza and eBay asking for delivery information

Later I googled Liza's email address [email protected] and found several sites that list her as a scammer!

https://www.antiscammers.org/liza-brussel-scammer-2012-golf-cart-limited/

They advertise boats , rv's for sale on craigslist. they Send fake addresses of where item is and offer free shipping because they bought through wedsite and are passing savings onto you . They use a Hatch.org email and even send passport photos and DL numbers . they will call and threaten you with legal contract and fines. they even ask for apologies when you question the facts.

Some scammers, usually from west africa copy legit business and use their name for fraud. If you want to buy safe, go and see it in person at the dealer. What you see is what you get... If you need to buy something unseen, be sure from whom you buy from.. A guy tried to sell me an ATV few months ago claiming to use USHIP.com website as transportation and payment. They made a clone of the legit website and redirected me to the fake version. Pay attention at the link from your browser, and check everything twice..

+1

yes, same happened to me, went to Craigslist found an RV and then the scammer redirected me to EBAY clone website. Shame that happens to legit businesses... be aware of everything before you buy online.

Frankly all I have to say that at first it seemed strange and rang some bells but went to the storage facility and gave cash. I blame the COVID for the lack of support...

+1

Yes, some persons post to Craigslist and using EBay company name scamming on cars that's not available and is using EBay for it.. Going to the facility works.

The Tacoma arrived 2 days late and had a big scratch on the right side door. The unpacking team was rude and in a hurry. Still a good deal tho..

+1

The angent, Randy was polite but I cannot understand why I had to spend gas money for nothing

+1

ProDepot had a facility 2 blocks away but they moved outside the city. Sometimes it's better to check twice before you buy... shame that scammers are using legit names like ebay for their "act"

Went to the warehouse, the boat was sold and they were trying to sell me another model. This was not ok according to their terms the boat was supposed to be marked as sold before I travel 200 miles.

I inquired about a 2009 Casita trailer, I got an email from [email protected] requesting $800 in ebay gift cards, I sent them 4 ebay gift cards at $200 each to start the transaction of the purchase, then ebay seller indicated the 2009 Casita was sold at undervalue, and $800 more was needed for insurance, I sent 4 more ebay gift cards at $200 each, after they got the $1600 in ebay gift cards from me, suddenly contact was halted from the seller side. When I notified ebay about it, and gave them the redemption codes to these 8 ebay gift cards to freeze these cards, and to trace the tracking numbers, they indicated the could not do that, I had to call 3 times and hopefully the freeze was finally put on the cards for tracking purposes. I need to have the $1600 refunded to me from ebay, since they will be the ones to benefit from the scam, I feel if they do not refund my $1600 they are allowing scammers to use them for scamming innocent victims.

Ebay- IMPOSTOR

Was looking for RV on facebook marketplace. Contacted seller who said she lost her husband..and was selling it to get rid of it. She said Ebay was going to be the vendor so I contacted them. They gave me all the correct information including VIN number. EBAY said they would deliver to my house as part of promotion. I called their number several times... voicemail was thanks for calling ebay. Sent emails back and forth. My mistake was they said I should gift cards for payment from ebay...wasn't thinking and I did...big mistake...email address they used was [email protected].

And they created a replica ebay email .awful...never pay until you receive. They also used Facebook Marketplace with legit 3rd party vendors. Email address used was [email protected]...

I’d like to confirm all the previous notes. I too have been scammed. March 17-2020 I order a product and still no product. No email response! Website is closed no imfo about the website or the company. Some one have to do something, with the situation we have and people just scam us because we can go out the street every day to do ours shopping like before and now online we are not sure who is real and who scam us.

Call your bank or credit card company, they usually have a 24 hour number for reporting fraudulent purchases.

Don't let your bank discourage you in reporting fraudulent charges if they are FDIC Insured-

The FDIC is a deposit insurance program backed by the federal government that protects bank depositors for up to $250,000. ... Many credit card companies and banks have customer protection plans in place to insure against identity theft or recover funds from fraudulent purchases.

I was scammed too. I filed reports with several government agencies as well as a formal complaint with Shopify. The website is no longer up and I have a feeling that Shopify removed it as they don't want the bad publicity. Call your banks and credit card companies to report the charges as fraudulent, they usually have a 24 hour number exclusively for that purpose. I filed a report with my bank and they refunded the charges within 3 days. Be persisent with your bank, don't let them tell you they can't do anything about it, they insure all accounts against this type of fraud.

Folks, keep hitting the Sally's Depot websites and look for Messenger...site says may not respond within one day...probably never! However keep looking for it and send your multiple messages...officially this online retailer no longer exists, according to message received when trying to contact their orginal website and according to Shopify Inc...call, email, text that ecommerce website with complaints as well...although not accredited by BBB, you can also file a complaint with them for Sally's Depot, Lunar Lites, and Shopify Inc...something to do while stuck at home right now...and my bank says that a refund is not possible since they, Sally's Depot, are not a legitimate business now, Lunar Lites is nonexistant and Shopify Inc does not accept responsibility for anything...isn't that special?

I was scammed as well by Sally's Depot and filed multiple reports of fraud with several government agencies. I also reached out to Shopify as I know they were hosting this site, they sent me a link to file an official report with them, which I did. The website for Sally's Depot has been disabled and is no longer up. My bank gave me my money back...you need to contact someone higher up in your bank about this, they are insured against this type of fraud and should reimburse you.

I was on FB towards the beginning of the Pandemic, and there was no TP to be had. I live in a small town. Less then 1000 people. I purchase tons of stuff online. Anyways, I saw a post about Angel soft brand TP for sale, shipped straight to your house. I figured man, this doesn't get any better. And it really didn't. I waited over a month. Got suspicious. Searched for the site. It does not exist. They are gone. No TP. Nothing. This was in the beginning of March.
