Prize Winner Notice - Fake Check Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Faribault, MN, USA • Apr 10, 2025

My brother received this letter. He thought he'd won until I explained he'd need to send $2,000 and I told him it was a scam. If you win something, you don't pay to get it.

Received a letter from World Lottery Association with a check enclosed from Ocean State Credit Union, Coventry, Rhode Island 02816 in the amount of $2695.90. It stated "you have won the sum of US $450,000.00. CONGRATULATIONS!!!" Your winning is payable to you by CERTIFIED CHECK, and will be delivered to you by a courier company (FedEx or UPS). You are therefore advised to contact YOUR CLAIM AGENT: Robert Ortiz 1-877-679-7190

M-F 8am to 6pm, Sat 8am to 5pm (eastern standard time) for further instructions on how to claim your big winnings. A processing fee and insurance fee of $2000.00 will be required before your lump sum winning can be sent to you. DO NOT ACT ON THIS LETTER UNTILL YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR CLAIMS AGENT.

D. HAMWRIGHT, Vice President Finance. There is a signature, written or typed?

The letter itself was not professional looking. It does show Target, Walmart, Home Depot, 7-11 (which aren't they closed now?) American Express, Master Card, and Visa at the bottom using their logos.
