I was contacted by a man on LinkedIn saying that he had an opportunity for a position at Qualcomm that I would be a great fit for. He asked for my resume, so I sent it to him, then I was immediately contacted by a woman named Priyanka. She asked me to spell out my middle name, asked me personal information about my address (which was on my resume), and then asked for my birthdate or last for of my SSN for a "Background check". It seemed suspicious to me, so I looked up her phone number and it has been reported as a scam line. When I emailed Sawan back to inform him that this was not typical information needed before an interview has taken place, and about the scam phone number. He did not respond and ended the conversation. This man has over 500 connections and 4,000 followers on LinkedIn, so I hope that more people aren't being targeted. I did confirm the spelling of my name and location, but did not give them my birthdate or SSN.
