I am a makeup artist, and a potential client approached me about getting her makeup done for her wedding. She wanted to talk only over email and said she was going to be out of the country in Istanbul, Turkey for a trip before the wedding. While she was on her “trip” she said her dad was going to send me a check for the $340 that was to be owed to me for my services. Then she told me her dad’s assistant messed up and sent me a check for $2000 and the “bride” wanted me to take what I was owed and send the remainder to her/the wedding planner over a money wire transfer. This is when I started getting suspicious.

I also called the bank the cashiers check is from and it is not a valid check at all.
