Phishing Scam - Chase Bank Impostor Reports & Reviews (4)

- Brooklyn, NY, USA

I was called by someone saying they are with Chase and that two suspicious transactions were observed, for $1400 and $800. I was given a case ID and two cancellation numbers, and told I would have to speak to Zelle or they would be deducted from my bank account, even though I do not have a Zelle account. I gave out no information other than the name of my banks. When I was suspicious, he hung up.

- Las Vegas, NV, USA

A telephone call to my cell phone in which the caller, a woman asked "Can you hear me" Without thinking I immediately answered

"Yes", even though I am aware of the scam using that question, I was caught off guard. Immediately after I answered the call switched to a recording saying. "This is Chase Bank, you qualify for a lower interest rate..." at that point I hung up. I do not have a Chase Bank account and I realized after I had answered that I was probably being scammed.

- Jacksonville, AR, USA

They contacted me by mail and I called them, they took my information and I never heard from them. They called to update my information and I told them that I did not put in for a Chase card and she repeated my phone number and it was wrong. They wanted my mother's maiden name, my social security number and everything. I asked for her ID number and she couldn't give it to me. She transferred me over to the fraud department and I asked for her ID number and she could not tell me. Then I was told to contact the BBB.

- Newport, KY, USA

It was the "can you hear me scam". I said yes and they said it was about a Chase Bank account that I do not have.
