Phishing Apartment Search Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

• May 21, 2025

I received a text message from someone offering to help me with my apartment search. The initial message was vague and did not include a name of company. When I asked who they were, they later revealed that their name was Amy Scott and they worked for Home Easy. They asked me what types of apartments I was looking for, what my budget was and why I was moving. I told them I was moving for work. I then received a response that repeated the same initial questions. I was unfamiliar with this person and had not reached out to their company. When I looked up this person, I could not find a realtor/broker with that name in Chicago, IL. I was able to find this company on Yelp and there are reviews from many others who had a similar experience of receiving spam/scam text messages from this company. It does not seem like a real person is sending these messages and they are often redundant and vague. They do not lead to apartment tours or leases.
