I bought a dog, allegedly. It is supposed to be flying to me. This company is requesting $1900 for an air regulated crate that I will supposedly get refunded when I am handed my dog on delivery. Now since I did not sign a contract with them and am refusing to pay they are threatening me with jail time.

Was informed by an "on-line" pet breeder" that the puppy I purchased had been "shipped" to be delivered to my home. The breeder provided me a "tracking number" and a website to track the puppies travels. I placed the tracking number on the website. a couple hours later, I received a couple of emails and a text, that I had not seen. I then received a call referring me to the email and texts. The email was to obtain a "refundable" deposit of a carrier to place the puppy in for delivery. I chose the 1,500. option. I later received a text that the puppy would be delivered the following day at 2PM. I contacted the "breeder" and informed as an FYI, and asked if that was normal for them to keep the animal, and who would feed water and care for it. The "breeder" texted back that it was normal and he had positive experiences with the delivery system in the past. This morning I received emails and text messages, that the puppy was in Chicago, and I needed to sign a form that am the "owner" of the puppy and I needed to send 2,500. to secure the puppy's delivery. I called to complain and explain that I had no more money to send, and the person who answered the phone said, the breeder should have told me about the fees, and that none of this was their fault. I texted the "breeder" to inform what I received, and that I was on to the scam, and was turning this situation in.
