An apartment tour was scheduled. There was a deposit needed for the tour of $100, that would be refunded after the tour. After the deposit was made he then said that a security deposit was needed to take the apartment off the market and secure the apartment in my name. I said that I don’t want the apartment secured to me until after the viewing. I would like to decide after if I wanted the place or not. He stated the standard to even see the house I had to put down a $200 deposit that would be returned to me after the tour. This information was not provided on the application form. I told him this information was not given and I was no longer interested in touring and he said that my $100 deposit could not be returned and it would only be after I go to the appointment and pay the other deposits. The information given was very misleading, and asking for more money to be sent before even viewing the apartment does not seem appropriate, and was not given information before the $100 was sent.
