I was notified by American Express that a claim had been made against me, by Radius Global Solutions LLC. Subsequently, my credit score on Experian dropped 129 points. When I called one of the 3 customer numbers, they offered to straighten things out for $1. They also emphasized that they had not purchased the debt, but that the claim was originated by AT&T. I knew I didn't owe them anything, but RGS said it was from an account number that wasn't mine, and a name that was my previously married name. My name was changed 9 years ago.

When I relayed this to AT&T, they confirmed I had no debt, but I could check w/Directtv, who had split w/Directtv (who was not listed as the original creditor). I called Directtv and they said that account number no longer existed.

I filed a fraud alert/complaint w/Amex, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.

RGS never contacted me directly re: the debt (187.00) on one call, ($187.08) on another.

Within days of filing the fraud alert, my credit rebounded to the previous score

This company has 3 different phone numbers, and the phone tree on one takes you to certain alloted "Debts, regarding AT&T" for instance. The other numbers are handled differently, asking about which notice I'm calling about, etc.

I hope this is resolved for good, but this company should be shut down. I can only guess how many victims have paid.

There are other branches located across the US, as well as branches located in Jamaica, India, Columbia, Panama, Philipines and Nevis

This company is clearly a company preying on people's fears and ignorance.

Nothing about the incident made any sense. They were only interested in someone who'd just pay up w/o questions.
