I tried to pay my Massachusetts EZPass invoice online and my browser autocorrected to the wrong website. “Paybyplatema.life”. The correct website is paybyplatema.com. Unknowingly I input and processed my credit card information and didn’t realize I was paying the wrong company until I was charged $39.95 and $1.95 immediately to my credit card and received both text and emails from the card company to verify the transaction. This was odd to me because I typically don’t get notified unless the transaction is over $100.

A few weeks later I was also charged an additional $4.95. The company description on the credit charge is EMMPOR.XYZ. The website for this is some sort of business services. This makes it especially difficult to draw the connection between the original website I paid and my credit statement. I was able to dispute the charges with my credit card company and they were reversed.
