This was a link from a global entry search and was the first in the list. Not sure why, if it's a scam, Google allows it to be the first hit that comes up in a search.

Gov Assits supposedly assists in filling out the DS-82 passport renewal form for a fee of $65 dollars with a $20 additional charge for "insurance" if the passport is lost. The red flag is their application asked for my parents information, including my mother's maiden name and my SSI number. I wish for all my information to be deleted immediately from their system. They are not affiliated with the US Government.

We were needing a passport, I paid 927.80 to get a rushed one and found out we couldn't do it through the website we had to file it in person. Ten mins after placing the order I talked to the rep and she said there is no issue and she would cancel my refund. I reach out weekly sometimes everyday. They now have my phone number blocked and email address. I can call from a different line and they will put me on hold then the phone will discount after 30 mins .

Google searched "how to renew my passport online", statedocument.com came up as one of the first few results. Went through the application process including giving personal ID info needed for passport renewal, paid via credit card for the service. Got a confirmation email from Travel Docs Express LLC. I called the support #(833)377-2682 and the service claimed their business address was in Atlanta, GA. I followed up with the address, called the location, they told me no such business of Travel Docs Express exists anywhere around that location.

After googling passport renewal was the second option, I read travel and clicked not seeing the end of the site was not gov, they charged me $90 to “easy file” turns out they do not have any affiliation with travel.gov they get all info and out in a form (form missing QR code on left of page) after seeing the form and paying the $90 plus shipping the instructions show to send the fee for passport… that’s when I said wait… where did the $90 go? It is a scam! Travel.org allows to fill out form and print without charging the fee still applies.

They reversed the transaction after me sending an email and calling. They have my ssn dob address, passport book number, passport card number, I canceled my credit card. I’m not an old person and fell for this, I can imagine a lot of people falling for this.
