Looking to renew passport. Filled out all the information with my Social Security number, passport number, name, address, telephone number and everything. Paid the money, sent the application in to renew the passport, got a letter back from the government stating I didn’t pay any fee for a new passport.

Fake passport site. I didn't realize until after it was too late. After I went to the government website, I realized that the site was fake.

Passport assist shows up in searches disguised as a government page and utilizes department of state logos, seals, and branding to appear legitimate. The business ha you fill out a fake passport form, offers different expedited processing options, and takes your card. I only approved a charge for a mailing label, but I was charged nearly $70 and sent an illegitimate passport form, partially pre-filled with my personal information. I have reported to my credit card company and disputed the charge, and cancelled my card.

The link on the US Passport Application site made it seem like you needed to apply electronically through this site and it would go directly to the government site to process for your appointment. I paid and $67.88 fee for this because it seemed like it was part of the site and mandatory for passport application. It asked SSN, parents full names and birthdates, marriage dates, divorce dates, addresses.

It is a fake website geared towards renewed passports online and has all my identification information. Please shut it down!

Scammer post online for renewal passport

- Greenbrier, TN, USA

Passport-Assist.com appears to be a government entity helping to obtain an online passport or renew a passport. Requesting you provide personal information, then pay for processing. Only to find later that the site is a scam trying to get your money. My concern is what they did with the personal information entered.

Renewing passport

- Berkeley Heights, NJ, USA

I was on a travel.state.gov website attempting to get information about US Passport Renewal. Somehow, the scammer must have used a website mirror the official government site and I was diverted to their scam website for passport renewal. The amount of $67.88 was charged to a credit card for services that they clearly can not and will not provide.

- Sun Prairie, WI, USA

Website is set up to look like the US passport renewal site. It asks way too many questions and wants your money.

- Raleigh, NC, USA

Google search for passport renewal; fake website looked absolutely legitimate. Clicked on link to DS-82 application for renewal. Filled out application including my ssn and then paid $62.88 to print the forms to mail in. Another website name used was us-docs.state.com

- Braintree, MA, USA

My wife thought she was on a legitimate government site when she assisted me with filling out the passport renewal form. All of my personally identifiable information was stolen, including my social security number, email address, home address, mother and father's names and maiden names, birth date, and credit card information.

They had me send me my social security like a real site but when i went to check my email or spams and purchase it never went thru

Passport-Assist.com is a scam website posing as a government processing agency. They provide an auto complete form that can be printed out and taken to a formal passport agency to process (however, the government agency will not accept it and you must complete the actual form on site to submit for processing). The site charges $85.83 to print out 7 pages of information that you have personally typed into their auto complete form. There is no service provided other than mimicking the same form that the government agencies provide. Additionally, they claim to provide "passport insurance" which does not legally exist. The greatest concern is the amount of personal information you provide to the site in addition to your credit card information. You are unable to reach anyone at the number or email listed and no confirmation email is provided upon completion of their form. I have reported this to our credit card company as well as BBB.

I accidentally submitted my information into their platform because I thought it was a government page. The information I submitted to their webform included personally identifiable information for my son, including his social security number. Also personal information of my husband and myself. After I submitted my information and made the payment, I didn't received the email with a confirmation of my payment. I went back to the link on my phone and it is when I notice it was through a different website than the government website where I initiated the process. I submitted a dispute on my credit card charge but I am also concern about the misuse of our personal information.

Website had me upload my passport info and sent me back a filled out passport form for 52 dollars which is otherwise free and is normally filled by the person requesting the passport renewal

- Fresno, TX, USA

They're trying to make you pay $128 to fill out your application to get a passport when is free at the post office. And then, when you come to the end, they'll tell you they have nothing to do with the government and that their third-party.
