Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

This is what was emailed to me: Dear valued customer, we want to let you know that your package has been set for delivery and that your delivery protocol has been activated. You should note that your package is on hold due to insurance rates, and delivery rates have not yet been completed. Our delivery agent, who is responsible for providing the packages to the customers' residential addresses, has just informed us that the cost of insurance and delivery of the 9.7 kg package (Box) to the above address will cost the courier service the amount of US $2,500. We are in possession of $1,000 dollars that the registrant left with us. Therefore, you need to pay the balance of $1,500 before the delivery process will commence.
