My son, who lives with us, received a letter from an unidentified business, describing an 'urgent matter' regarding our residence and a mortgage on it. Attached was a document resembling a check for $199.00. The letter contained strong and authoritative language, including SEVERAL PHRASES IN ALL CAPS. The only contact info for the business was a toll-free telephone number 1-888-788-4779. We did not take any action on the letter (other than to shred it!), but we wanted to report it to keep this scammer from victimizing anybody.
