No Better Friend Handyman is NOT your friend - Super Unreliable "handyman!"

My husband had been speaking with this guy (No Better Friend Handyman - Jock) about some doing some work - specifically repairing flagstones in our backyard, and fixing a place on the front of our house where a small section of siding needed to be replaced and painted. Because he seemed so earnest and genuine (said he was a veteran), my husband paid him the full agreed upon amount of $3200. The first couple of days were fine - the guy showed up and did much of the work on the flagstones that was required, but he didn't finish the job. And, then suddenly he said he was "too busy" to come back and finish the work on that day, but would come soon. This happened for a number of days. The bottom line is that he NEVER came back to finish the work for which we paid him. He never touched the siding and paint, and never finished the work on the flagstones. He initially offered to partially refund some of the money he was paid, but never followed through on that. It has been a horrible experience overall. He became super flaky, unreliable and unprofessional by not following through with the job, or with the partial refund HE offered. He was CERTAINLY not a man of his word. It was so disappointing - we were hoping we had found someone we could count on for minor jobs, but we couldn't have been more wrong. Just giving you a heads up - if you are looking for someone you can count on, this is not your man.

Scammers claimed he was a licensed general contractor in Denver county and could finish our basement. He took 50% of the total cost and then walked off the job and never finished the project. He illegally started framing our basement without any permits and the little bit of work that was done was not to code or safe. He left a huge mess when he left of scrap wood, rotting food and drinks and trash everywhere.

This is a false statement and is completely untrue. While I have never served a client by this name to begin with, this flat out never happened. This statement is being investigated and will be prosecuted.
