Next Steps Filings sent a deceptive letter and won't issue my refund

The letter Next Steps Filings (website: nextstepsfilings.com) sent to me looked like it was from the Commonwealth of Virginia regarding renewal of my LLC registration. The second I hit "send" it occurred to me that it was more expensive than I remembered after going to the gov't website, I realized what happened. I immediately called and asked for a refund to which they agreed...but they put the charge through anyway. I've waited 10 days and still no refund for the $175 they took. Those letters should not have a similar looking seal as the Commonwealth. It costs $50 but they charged $175.00.

I received a "Final Notice" in the mail stating I needed to complete my annual registration for my LLC. It gave me a response date of 8/20/2025 and the requirement I completed my renewal NLT 30 Aug 2025. The fees included a late fee ($70) in addition to the filing fee ($75). I noticed the email address ended in .com, but the website ended in .co

The request was for my 2025 Annual Registration, but the Washington State law that was sited, required an annual report.
