From there an interview was set up for a few days later. All communication was via text on Microsoft Teams. No video contact at all. The questionnaire felt very legit. It was from an official website and it was a timed task. I was told I would be notified 3 days later about the next steps. That was a Friday, so Monday morning I was told I was hired for the job. They sent over a W-4 form and contract. The contract seemed legit but it was sent via email by Adobe sign. Using the email [email protected].
This initial paper work was asking for very personal information such as SSN, bank information (for direct deposit), driver’s license, and passport. All information that is given to typical employers but normally without the red flags. Luckily I did not insert my information but I hope this can save someone else. Please double/ triple check these scam employers.
