Our Medical Clinic has been contacted via phone and fax requesting personal medical records and demographics for the patient and Durable Medical Equipment prescriptions. The scammer is using a medicare ID number for the patient that has been flagged for being compromised and has since had to be reissued a medicare ID. The fax came with the name "Nationwide Pharmacy Caring for Everyone" and "HIPPA Complaint" if these requests are being sent to a large establishment that may overlook or not question this information, I suspect there has been significant fraudulent activity, resulting in a significant amount of money being falsely obtained from medicare and other government and commercial insurances.
