I tried to buy a cute sleepy otter plushie for anxiety from an ad I saw on Facebook. I went through the checkout process for this $10 item and completed my order before thinking I should check and see if it was legit. Once I googled it, I saw a lot of other people reporting it was a scam and so ran back to the website to see if I could cancel the order and could not find a way to do this via the website. I did finally find a support email and emailed that same day for them to cancel my order. I never heard back from them. I heard from the recipient of the plushie (it was a gift for a family member) that they finally received the item and it was very low quality. I found the same item at another store for 3x as much and I am thinking that must be the original product. So I thought that would be that, I got an inferior product for less cost, oh well. But I was wrong, the next month a charge came out of my account from CRUSHONPLUSH.COM for $42.95 which I knew immediately was mushplushies as I had not made any other purchases. I had a lot going on in my life at the time so I wasn't able to deal with it and eventually forgot. Then the very next month the same amount came out again $42.95 from CRUSHONPLUSH.COM. This time I immediately called my bank and disputed the charges and had a new card issued with a new number. Then suddenly I received an email from mushplushies.eu in response to my email requesting to cancel my order stating that it is impossible to cancel their orders after it has been placed and that my "membership" had already been cancelled per my request. I sent an email in response saying that I was not aware in the first place of signing up for a membership and what on earth could I have been paying for with 42$ a month? They answered it was for discounts and not to worry since it had been cancelled. Yeah, cancelled once they could no longer take money out of my account.... Thankfully my bank ruled in my favor and reversed the charges but money was tight during the time those charges were coming out and I was late on a few bills because of this nonsense. Anyway, I want to report them so that hopefully someone else doesn't fall for this comforting plushie like I did and get scammed.

This website was advertised on Instagram for a weighted plush that “breathes” to help children regulate their breathing for anxiety and stress. Almost ordered FOUR for my daughters. READ THE FINE PRINT OF THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. READ THEIR FAQ. They pose as if they are in the USA however, there is a clause about custom fees. Their terms also manipulates you to sign up for a “membership.” It’s all really cute and cuddly and seems so great because they “donate” 1 tree per purchase but this is 100% a scam if I’ve ever seen one. They also don’t allow you to cancel, refund or return your order because of their “small business costs.” Terrible. DON’T DO IT. Glad I caught it.
