Initial means of contact Not applicable
Transport moving company and Big D’s Moving Solutions on Wednesday July 19, 2023
FNF Transport contacted me saying that they could help me move boxes of household
items and clothes items out of my Airbnb into my primary residence for $110 an hour
per man with a two-hour minimum. (Approx cost $270). I booked him about five days
before my scheduled move and he assured me that he will be cheaper than A Better
Way Movers which is the organization that I usually use. Carlos who was my main
contact, called me the day of our move, and said that he is very conscious of time and
he will be there at least an hour early. My scheduled time was 12:00pm. I did not see
him at 11am nor 12 o'clock. I called at 1pm and he stated that he had a driver named
Dominique and he would be on the way. I called this new driver around
2pm and said that he was in Lawrenceville. I tried several times to call Carlos but
got no response. I did call Dominique again and he said would be at my house at
4:30pm. He finally did show up at 5:00pm with an extra person and a U-Haul truck.
Against my better judgement, I let them move my items. Dominique
never stated he was a sub-contractor of FNF Transport. I tried to call Carlos again to
confirm this and never got an answer. So finally, I let him, and his co-worker get to work.
His partner was wonderful, but Dominique didn't do much. He was on the phone most of
the time. We went over to my residence to drop off all the items. After they were done,
he tells me that he gets the $270 because he doesn't have anything to do with FNF
Transport. It's his company Big D’s Moving Solutions and he gets the payment. I didn’t
understand this and began to dispute the late arrival time and switch of companies. So,
I told him that I was not going to pay him because he is not the company that I hired.
He stated that not paying him is a misdemeanor and stealing rendered services. I totally
disagreed with him and said my issue was with FNF Transport and not him. He didn’t
listen and he called the Peachtree City Police to have me arrested. I was in shock! They
were 5 hours late and they were not the company I hired! He didn’t present himself as a
professional contractor at all. He said to me “Does my truck say FNF Transport?”
Out of anger and wanting to get this situation over with paid him. But the police were already on the way. Once the police came, I told him what happened and asked the police to get them off my property. The officers talked to Dominique and then they left.
I could not believe this experience. And I never heard back from Carlos
with FNF Transport. This is a blatant bait, hook and switch situation. Both parties are
completely unprofessional and they need to have their licenses revoked. This is the worst experience of moving that I ever had, and these movers are crooks. I expect the Better Business Bureau as well as the State of GA to do something about both of these businesses.
If you are even thinking about using either one of these companies, BE WARNED -
FNF Transport or Big D’s Moving Solutions are going to rip you off and treated.
with no respect nor professional decorum.
