Answered craigslist add via text for a tractor that the asking price appeared to be lower than market value. Received a text saying the tractor was still available and it also asked for my email address so they could send additional pictures and their company info. Their email contained additional info and photos of the tractor and went into detail about their company, MT Truck Experts, and the escrow company, JP morgan escrow services, they wanted to use should I buy the unit. Even though both business websites looked legit, I went to the bbb website and found that this guy/entity has reportedly defrauded tens of thousands of dollars from individuals using this same method. Moreover, both business websites are reportedly fake.

The fake "Montana Truck Experts" mirrored a website owned by Rush Enterprises, Inc. The company's fake website uses the images of our employees, although the names have been changed. Additionally, the pages are substantially similar, though the logo has been changed.

We were alerted by a customer of this fake company who wired a down payment to them, but never heard from the contact again. The fake websites mobile site links to Rush Enterprises' web links. We have filed a police report, submitted an FBI Internet Crime Complaint, and emailed the website host company.

The company had an add on craigslist for a 8060 JCB excavator. I was supposedly dealing with Robert Sofiano, listed in the company sales team. I was continually contacted with photos of the machine and emails of payment methods. I wired the money to a supposed escrow account set up by this company at JP Morgan Chase. After they received the money I was informed the delivery date would be 11/7/17 between 10-12am. At 1:00pm, I tried to contact them again and got no response but busy signals and no return emails.
