I was on my computer and it froze. I shut it down and brought it back up and still couldn't get it to do anything. I got a message on the screen. The message was something about your computer has malware call this number 800-545-5895. When I did they answered Online tech support for windows. I got a person on the line wanting to bill me $299.99 for tech support. The person was named Akasha. I gave my routing number and checking account number to do an online check. After I gave the info I was put in touch with a tech person who took control of my computer. He went through several screens and typed info and at the end told me my computer was clean. He put 2 icons on my desktop. (malware bytes, C cleaner 64) After that my computer started working again. they thanked me for my time and patience and disconnected. After speaking with my daughter I realized I'd been scammed and went to my bank to stop the payment. I was told on the phone call with this company that the charge would come from Help Stops LLC but upon research by the bank it turned out to be Quick Konto. This company seems to be in Germany. My bank advised me to file a report with the police department. My bank says they should be refunding me.
