Micro Technical Services LLC Reports & Reviews (10)

I was trying to install an HP printer, I chatted with somebody by text, then a new person came on and told me that I had been hacked and took over the computer, they did manage to install the driver for the printer. I gave them my credit card number ( they wanted a check) the proceeded to try to get paid through PayPal. I refused. This is a scam as I was under the impression that I was talking to HP, not Micro technical services. I do not think that they will charge me on my Visa card but if they do, I will oppose the charge

I thought I was speaking with someone from Geek Squad but didn’t find out who until I had to pay $799 for their “cleaning” service. They claimed that this malware or spyware had infected my entire network affecting my phone, iPad and television as well as my PC. I had to download something so they could take a look at my system and showed me what this apparent infection was doing to my system. After they were through, I had to write a check and make a photo copy of it rather than send it to them. They did not take credit cards. After talking with a friend, he said it sounded like a scam so I stopped payment on the check that had not been submitted to my bank yet…thank goodness! I went to Best Buy Geek Squad who confirmed my suspicions and are wiping my entire PC.

My computer locked today and continued to send a shrill "fire-drill like" sound that I was unable to disable. I called the # on my screen and spoke with Jerry Wade--a gentleman with a strong middle-east dialect. He advised, after walking me through several steps which allowed him to access my computer, that I did not have a network firewall on the computer and that one phone # consistently was coming up as trying to access my computer. Is this a legitimate operation? I was asked to pay $249.99 by check for Network Firewall and Anti-Hacking software to be installed in spite of the computer already having Webroot Internet Security being installed. Legit transaction or scam? Recommendation?

I had a issue setting up a Canon Printer to my computer, so I went to their help page and was passed over to this company. I had one on line and another on the phone pressuring me to pay for a unwanted Antivirus. They also made them selves Administer to my computer. I was checking my e-mails and in my sent file they had accessed it. They wrote a letter to them selves giving approval to their bogus charges on my Credit card. I now have the Credit Card. Pay Pal and Canon doing a investigation on my dealings with them. I paid a repair shop to remove all the garbage that they left on my computer. They also have another company called Micro Global Solutions. I'm going after them for Fraud

I'm a 85 year old man, not too good with a computer. Last night my computer locked up. I called this number this morning after the so called repair man said he fixed my problems. I gave him a check # 1192 for $349.99. After about 90 minutes my computer came back on, and is working. My question is ; the man I talked to said he was Mark Brown. # I called is 1-917-908-2812' Is this legitimate number and name, or have I been scammed or ripped off?

After having trouble setting up my new HP printer I contacted the website in my printer manual, spoke to a man that helped me remedy my error message which was preventing my printer from working properly. . He then began talking and showing me on my computer hacking that supposedly was taking place, telling me Norton was not adequate to prevent hacking. He claimed he was able to clean my computer as well as offer network firewall that blocks hackers, viruses, spyware, trojans, malware, adware, 'crap' from the internet, that the program would secure internet identity, secure personal and financial info etc. Sounding very knowledgeable I agreed to listen to his pricing and felt lifetime security was a savings as well as a protection I no longer had to worry about. Papers were sent back and forth via my printer. I felt good about my purchase although it was very costly! Not computer savvy I trusted his apparent expertise, not knowing how I would ever be able to see if in fact I had the protection.....where would I look? 7 months later I received a call from this same man trying to sell me more protection stating suspicious activity was taking place on my computer and he showed me on my computer such activity (I guess). I told him I purchased this package that included safety from hackers to which he didn't respond, only stating I need this protection. After a period of heated discussions I told him I now felt I was scammed and would take further action. Two weeks later he called me again leaving a message about my computer having suspicious activity. Phone # I contacted throughout this mess was 18002982127. I was also getting different phone #s referencing the ongoing suspicious activity I needed to be aware of.

I was having trouble connecting my printer to my computer when a message appeared on my computer stating that it was technical support from Microsoft. I thought it was from HP because that is the computer system I was working on. I called them. They were giving me advice on what I should do on my computer. They were able to take control of my computer to so-call fix the problem. They suggest that I get their service for a year that would cost $199.00 but if I get 3 years for $399.00 I would be saving money. They scanned all of the agreement papers through my printer. They asked for a credit card or check, all completed through my printer. I thought they were a legit company. as weeks went by I started receiving phones calls about a refund on the initial money I had paid. They stated that a part of their company had shut down in Kansas because of the COVID-19. The refund would be in the amount of $200.00, but what I didn't know is that they had hacked into my computer and knew my every computer move. They were trying to get a large amount of money from my bank account. They wanted me to get a wire transfer from my bank and send it to an offshore bank in Singapore. They had me on my cell phone for a long time trying to have me make this transaction. There were several men. They gave me names and badge numbers, trying to make it sound real. Be aware of this company's fraudulent ways.
