A man named Michael Lantor contacted me via email to offer me a job position to be a caregiver for his elderly mother. Michael said that he found my resume on Zip Recruiter, and he was willing to pay me $25 per hour. He listed the qualifications of the position, however, he asked for my personal information such as an address to send a check to me in advance before actually starting employment. He set up arrangements with a wheelchair company and he wanted me to use the check to pay me, and use the remainder to pay the wheelchair company instead of writing two separate checks. He was moving to my area from Ohio, so he wanted the wheelchair for his mother before they arrived to New York.
