I have received multiple calls from multiple individuals indicating that they are from Merchant Processing Center and that the business is due a $850.00 refund for overbilling. They started calling us last year but have been consistently calling since April 2026 asking me to email our statement summary page verifying that we have not already received the credit. The calls came in from the following numbers 520-314-4785, 928-438-8626, 928-396-1474. They claim they are from the backend review, and need me to email them the information of my merchant account statements. I have contacted our credit card processing merchant as well as the sales rep and they do not have anyone reaching out to businesses for a PCI overcharge.

Caller identified themselves as calling on behalf of our actual payment processor and stated we had been overbilled and they wanted to verify we received our rebate, walked me through opening up our statement to check for a credit and when I didn't see one, asked me to send him the statement as proof we didn't receive it. Caller was asked why they wouldn't already have it and they acted as though only their billing team could view it. He provided a case # to make it seem more legitimate and wanted the email address that I'd be sending the document from.

I have received this call numerous times. The caller represents themselves as someone from Merchant Processing Center and they are checking to make sure we received our $800 or $850 credit due us on our recent credit card processing statement. The caller first asks you to bring up your most recent credit card processing statement, walks through various scenarios (trying to make themself sound legitimate) and then gives you a Case ID # and lets you know that as soon as they receive our statement via email, they will ensure the credit is issued to our account.
